Hi all. New to the forum and new to cummins diesels. Decided to join after stumbling on the site looking for solutions to the TC lockup cycling issue and was impressed with the quality of content and respect everyone seems to have for each other here. I picked up a 1999 4x4, auto trans, 138k miles to pull our RV (10k lbs). I work remote and will travel full time starting in the next couple of months. Primary interests are reliability, moderate power and decent towing. Looking for info on the WT mod atm and would appreciate any other recommendations! The truck currently has turbo back exhaust and replaced APPS sensor - otherwise stock. I have an airDog to inst…

My name is Dwight. Have owned my CTD since 2005. I am member of other forums but it is always nice to get other opinions also on things. Truck is stock except for FASS 95 and ISSPRO pillar gauges, installing an ISSPRO rail gauge on the column next week. New injectors last year due to hard start. Dwight

Stumbled accross this forum looking for service manuals. It lloks like a great place for a real newbie to diesels to get a lot of helpful information. And I have a lot to learn. After only having the truck for a week and putting 200 miles on it I have already had the #4 injector line break and lost 15 gallons of diesel on the interstate south of Dallas and had 2 tow truck bills and a bill from the dealership to install the new line. I have got to get up to speed on this engine so I can take care of it myself like I use to on the gas engine trucks.Hopefully I will get to the point that I can contribute something of value someday.Scott

Hey all! I'm mostly new to the forum here though I have been lurking for a while. I have posted a couple of questions to which I got some great help. I hope to be able to add useful information as I learn more about my truck. You should see the details of it in my sig. I do have one question about the forum. It seems that I get logged out after about 3 minutes and each time I change to a different page. For example: I signed in to reply to a post in the 2nd gen forum. I had to copy and paste my reply because I had to sign in again before I could post even though I had signed in to reply. I was typing the whole time which took about 5 minutes. After posting I went …

Hey guys I am a new member from Cincinnati Ohio. I have a 02 24v 2500 Long bed single rear wheel. Many diff cars over the years and this is my first Diesel I picked it up over a year ago as my main truck for my business to be able to pull a bobcat and materials. Truck does have 4inch turbo back exhaust and raptor fuel pump and right before I bought it the lid replaced the VP44. I have put about 15k miles since I bought it and now it’s time to start upgrading and fixing all the small issues which is why I joined the forums to ask for help along the way and hopefully help others

Hello all, just found this site when I fried my quad ADR, dead battery and tried to start it, a few clicks and it was dead, didn't even try to boost it. Sold my chevy gasser for a dodge in 08, first diesel and really like it, bought an 09 jetta tdi in 12. 40 mpg, small car though. Usually try to do all my own mechanic work, clutch has been biggest job so far at 240,000 miles. I think it is on original vp, not sure though.

Greetings everyone, glad I'm finally on the forums. Just ordered a high idle switch kit as we are dropping temps here in Washington lately. I've had my 01 24v for 2.5 years now and love it so far, about all I do with it is tow my 70 cj5 around to wheeling events. Lots of info here and I'm stoked to be apart of it! SIG is updated so feel free to check it out, not much done yet but getting the itch for some injectors next.

Hi... been a member for a while but after a lot of emails reminding of no posts I decided to get on it. So Hi from the UK or to be more specific pretty much right in the middle of England. I imported my first gen 2 myself, 3500 4x4 5.9 petrol ( gas)..... it was at the twin towers cutting steel after 911. It was at a truck dealer in canada when I bought it and moved it back to NJ and shipped it over here Just got a 98.5 2500 24v cummins 4x4 bought here.....I have to say my 3500 is smooth, I have owned it for 14yrs, i've used it as a dump truck while I built a house, It can easily pass all euro pickups any where and out tow, out carry in absolute…

My pumps are down and as a result so is my income...located a used garuanteed to run pump nearby for 450$, can improvise lift for about 200$ more. Not what I want to do but at least I'll be running. What do you think, any traps I'm missing? That's guaranteed to run only, no warranty implied or other wise, lift pump is a near match found by oriellys guy, new in box....

Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Chad Miller I bought my first diesel last year (the one in my sig). It had 234,000 on it when I bought it from the original owner. It was still just as it had come from the factory. I've learned a great deal about it in the last year doing all of the work on my own. Of course I always come across something new that I haven't done yet and it's always great to get the chance to talk to people with a lot more knowledge than me.

Hey everyone. Just joined the site, which I discovered on CF. I'm a Marine stationed in San Diego. Bought my first Cummins in February, and I'm loving it. It's a 04 QCSB, 4wd. Current mods are Quadzilla ADR wPV2, AFE stage 2 intake, 4" Diamond Eye TBE, South Bend clutch, leveling kit w/Fierce Attitude 35x12.5 M/Ts. Future mods are fuel pump of some type, maybe stacks (if I can find someone that's willing to trade), larger lift, and ranch hand (or comparable) bumpers.Looks like a ton of great info on here, an looking forward to learning a lot.Semper Fi
