OK it has been what like almost a year since I installed the hubs. Well we have replaced the left side 2 times and the right side 3 times with it needed to be replaced again! The last time for the right hub was December! The clown at Hub Warehouse told me "you have to have something worng with your truck or you just can't drive for $hit" really? So now I'm going back to the OEM Mopar hubs and we will see what happens.Don

I have been wondering for years if the 6.7 Harmonic Damper would fit the 5.9. The 6.7 version is a viscous fluid damper, like a Fluidamper, but at about 1/2 the cost. Thanks to a TDR member I now know that they fit and what it takes. So my parts are on order, and I will update this thread when I get them installed. Benefits are a smoother motor, and generally just a better part. Initial reports are that the damping is as good as, or better, than an aftermaket damper. Low rpm lug noises are greatly diminished, as is gear roll-over on manuals with HD clutches (like the Con OFE on my truck). The swap requires the damper, fan pulley, and 4 bolts.Damper p/n 4933224 ~$227Fan Pu…

Was wondering if it is normal for the charging system to be on the low side at first start? Never really noticed this before. The gauge normally shows a charge of over 14 volts, but in the mornings and afternoons when the truck is cold the gauge will stay to the left of 14 volts i guesstimate 12. After a couple of minutes it will return to normal. The motor seems to really rattle when it is below 14 volts, and when it returns to normal the truck seems to come to life and quit rattling. The temp here today was around 50°. does this have to do with the grid heaters or have I got other issues? Hopefully one of these days I will be knowledgeable enough to help someone!…

I just talked to the previous owner of my pickup and he told me that he had installed a reman Road Ripper 3000 from Certified Transmissions. I started getting off subject in my previous thread so I thought I would start a new one. I ordered the Smarty S06 POD and will be doing a lot of pulling. According to the webiste, the Road Ripper can handle a beating, but I was wondering what are my limitations. I don't plan on hot rodding, but when I buy a Quadzilla Scout down the line, it would be nice to be able to have the quick get up and go for fun. What have you guys seen and what settings should I be keeping her at?

First off I am still figuring out everything on my new pickup and this site has been full of information, thanks a lot. The previous owner told me that he had put a bolt in the wastegate and I wouldn't have to worry about getting to high of boost pressures. I have a boost gauge but I am still worried about blowing the turbo up when I get a chip for hauling. I was wondering what you guys think about this little modification.

I just received an extension warrantee notice for my '06 ( they said all Ram 1500 and 2500 models) multifunction turn signal switch. They said because of a potential manufacturing process variation process ? So to correct this, they are extending the warrantee of my 'switch' from original warrantee to 10 years or 150k, which ever comes first. Seems the exterior and interior turn signal lights CAN malfunction and flash opposite of what the operator selected. This is the first I've heard of this. And in all the years I've own vehicles and have known people have own vehicles, I have never heard of this.Anyone had this problem ?

  10. I have a 2007 2500 5.9L that currently will not start. If anyone has time to provide some input that would be great! I have done a lot a reading and basic troubleshooting over the past couple of days, and here's what I know: . [*]Trucked cranked few weeks ago and sputtered for about 3-5 seconds right after cranking. This cleared up on its own after that 3-5 second period, and I did not have any issues while driving it that day or the next. [*]When I got back to the house, I parked the truck in my yard facing un an incline of maybe 6-8 degrees with ~ 1/4 tank fuel. [*]It sat parked there for about two weeks before I cranked it again. [*]After those two …

Hi All,First post after read much information here "great site".Any-way I have new to me 03 mega cab R3500 4x4 dually 5.9L.While traveling at around 50 mph and just maintain a speed, it feels like the engine fuels then doesn't fuel ever so lightly. I hear the engine dieseling a bit then quiets then dieseling and so one. The turbo spools up a little and doesn't. If I punch it for a bit, the engine will come out of it. I noticed it does not do it all the time! Thanks

  12. Hey y'all. I just bought my first diesel and the previous owner was an aftermarket parts dealer. I only had a short time to talk to him on the phone at the dealer and I am now trying to figure out everything he had added. It previously had a smarty chip but it is out now. What I know so far is in the signature. It is also an auto. There are a few things I don't know the purpose of. First is a foot switch on the floor under the e-brake and when in drive, I can't tell a difference when engaged, but when I stop with it engaged it lunges forward and kills the pickup. Does this sound like anything you guys have added before? Second on the engine, the top is not stock. It has t…

Well, the original muffler on my "03" gave up this morning. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good replacement? I really don`t want it to be loud, as I have gotten older I prefer to hear the Cummins purr rather than the exhaust roar.

I have had this 05 now for about 8 months and it really gripes me that my 01 will fire right up, half a turn and she fires right off. The 05 on the other hand takes several turns of the eng to start, what the heck is up with that? I usually miss the start up and have to hit it again the second time.

My truck is a 2004, since I have it the heater is not blowing a lot of heat during winter, this not realy a problem for me but my wife and my kids dont realy like the cold. I change the thermostat, I put a rubber mat to close 75% of the rad, the T is rising like normal but the fan is blowing cold air most of the time. Where I work I drive some newer cummins, 2006, 2007, and they blow heat like hell, the T just start to raise and the fan blow hot air. I dont now if some door in the blowing system are broken or what, last summer I check if the motor move the door when I move the control and everithing was looking fine, Yesterday it was -35 C here in Canada and the cab start…
