I recently installed a coolant filter, and based on what I thought, and was told, at the time I plumbed it the way I did. I have the "pressure" coming from the head, and the "return" going to the block. I also recently realized that the flow of coolant is from the block, thru the head, and back to the pump, or radiator... So I am wondering if my filter is filtering backwords? So can anyone help confirm or deny this? Is the pressure in the head or the block greater? Thanks

I have a friend with an '06 that has lost power and started running rough. He has a CEL on, and has codes P2149 (bank 2 (cylinders 4-6) shorted high or low) and P0205 (injector no, 5 control circuit).Any suggestions would be great.Thanks in advance!

Just got on this site, was on a different site, called Michael who was very helpful and he assisted me in getting a manual. I am going to post on this site so that people may follow my issue, possibly help or I may possibly help them. 2003 Dodge diesel 2wd with a six speed. 144k on odometer. I recently installed 50 hp brand new bosch injectors, air dog 150. No tuners, but I have a Cold Air Intake and straight pipe. Recently had problems where it would die intermittenly. I replaced my shocks about 2 years ago and at the time they didn't have Bilsteins shocks for 2 wheel drive 3rd gen's, so I went with the only Heavy duty shocks out there, KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, they weren't half bad for the first few months but went down hill fast after that, After 2 years they are junk, rusted and give a bad ride. What are the best shocks out there now without breaking the bank?

I am wanting to upgrade my stock tranny for towing. My 10k lb rv really puts a load on my tranny especially climbing hills. I know there are allot of choices out there, ATS, BD, Suncoast, Goerend, etc. I am leaning toward Source Automotive which is closest to me. Any thoughts or suggestions?

That's what I'm approaching now!!! I've officially got about 130 miles to go before a "full" 80,000 miles without a complete oil change, but I thought I be pro-active and tell y'all prior!!!!!:cool:I plan on taking an oil sample and sending it to Blackstone for analysis at the next scheduled TP change out. That'll be just over the 80k mark, but close enough. I'll post the results when I get them. Those "butt wipe" filters work well!!!

It took a while, but it's done. I initially took it in to have the front seal replaced, find the "thumping" in the front end and to "time the CP3". I thought for sure it was the front seal, as there was oil all over the front cover and looked to be coming from the crankshaft seal. They replaced it, and while in there they did the CP3 timing thing. The thumping was worn out stabilizer bar bushings!! The axle U-joints were also toast.......greasables too!!!!Anyhow, I get the truck back..............sounds super quiet now..........that CP3 timing thing really does work!! Drive around to do some errands and guess what?????? I've still got the oil spots under the truck at each…

I broke down and ordered a Cam. Its a Colt Cams Stage 1. Its their mildest grind, but since I dont have big power plans I am not worried about bigger grinds. It also is the same cam that PDR sells with their name, and it gets good reviews, espeically with stock turbo's and exhaust brakes. Should be good for 100-200* EGT drop, 200-400 rpm quicker spool, and 1-3 mpgs. Its getting installed on the 26th. I'll be sure to do a good review post once I get a few miles on it.

I went up to Black River Falls, WI to guide some "pheasant shooters" for a member of my retriever club this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by the ground cover at the hunt club and by the shooting of the shooters. Anyhow, it's about 225 miles from my place to BRF. I filled up the night before I left, so I had a full tank of fuel. Probably 200 miles of that is interstate which I drove at 2000rpm or about 68mph. Once there at the hunt club there was some short driving to the leased farms to guide shooters. Go about washing my truck when I've got a front seal leak that is essentially covering my truck with oil?????? I cannot get it into the shop for at least a 2-3 weeks. to get it repaired. I've washed my truck now for 3 days in a row. Not that it needed it, but to try to get the oil/dirt stains off the white paint. Today I used "straight" concentrated car wash soap. It helped, but didn't clean completely. HELP!!!

Went down to SE Missouri this past weekend for my annual snow goose hunt. Hunting was slow on Sat. and great on Sun. On Sunday 3 guys killed 19 birds inspite of 2 guys with gun problems!!!Anyhow, I left my house Friday with about 125 mostly towing miles on the tank of fuel. Got down to Sikeston, MO, and filled up. I got 548 miles on that tank and after hand calculating mileage, it worked out to 18.5mpg. Not too bad.Drove around down there for about 180 miles before heading home on Sunday. I've gone back to my stock air box after finding some grim and dirt on my turbo fins. My question is there a quick and easy way to clean the inside of a turbo and it's fines. This may sound dumb, but on my 01, I used a can of spray carb cleaner. It worked, but I'm not sure its a good idea.

Has anyone installed the Firestone Ride-Rite air suspension?I recently bought a Fleetwood truck camper and had a devil of a time getting it home. The springs on the truck are just too soft, and the overriders don't help much. Thought I'd give these a try. I can't believe they put these springs on here! That's why it rides so good empty!

I posted the below info in the 2-stroke thread, but this is really the place it should be kicked around. Any opinions are appreciated."I have run maybe 10 fills with 100:1 and something is not right. There is a loss of power and the turbo seems a little louder when accelerating. It didn't happen until a 1000 mile trip heavily loaded.Still not sure what is to blame though. This is a pretty simple maintenance procedure, but I thought I would throw my .02 out here for everyone to read. First off the service manual has the procedure, and it really is quite simple. In addition to the coolant flush I changed the thermostat. That procedure can also be found in the service manual. I started off by simply draining the OE fluid into a bucket. It was still very red, no oil, or any contaminates that I could see. There was a little bit of some contaminate the showed up on the 3rd flush in the radiator, but looked liked what I have seen in every cooling system.
