  1. Hi guys! Two days ago I had my Airdog100 installed at a shop local to the area I live. That night I went and picked it up and I had 22 miles to drive home. It idled fine when I left the shop, partway home it kinda sputtered alittle like there was a dead pedal for a couple seconds. Parked in garage and next day went to go get kids and it did it again with the pedal. I got it home and looked it over. Two hours later went to go pick kids up and it wouldnt start at first. I could hear the pump engage and then I left key on for about 30 sec just in case it needed that time to build pressure. It did finally start and rpm's were from 800 down to 500 jumping back and for…

  2. OK, so I feel dumb even asking this question.. but I'm looking at the front of my engine and don't see a hose, bottle, vent or anything like it. What I think I'm looking at is just a smooth timing cover. D oes that make sense? I crawled under the truck and see what looks to be the vent/blow-by hose but it runs back up into the side of the block above the stock LP location. So, am I really dumb enough to be missing it somehow??

  3. so i'm looking for the data link for cummins insite. i think dodges before 2005 have a 3 pin deutsch connector somewhere in the front of the engine according to cummins quickserve website but it doesnt specify exactly where. the pins 02, 12, and 42 coming off the ecm are supposed to be the wires i need but i dont see them coming out of the wire loom anywhere. any ideas?

  4. My fuel filter is still in the factory housing and used to just go to the local cummins shop to get a fuel filter but I have moved and would really like to know what to put in my truck. I think it was fleetguard but cant remember now. This topic is popular in the 3rd gen section but it never really comes up in the 2nd gen forums. So, what do you use?

  5. Ive searched and cant find the thread showing where to get the little plastic "cup" that fits on the ned of the shift stick into the tranny. Mine is worn and has about an inch of play front to rear and i hate play. its the little black thing on the end of the stick shift below (cant get the image to work) http://www.allstategear.com/Shifter%20Components/Medium/NV25683.jpg

  6. So i got to thinking that having polls will help many make a decision or get a baseline of certain vitals on the cummins. Ill make a poll for a few things, it will help with troubleshooting as i see many times folks asking for "what range should i run" or "what is a good pressure" etc etc. I think these will be beneficial for all of us. Maybe Mike can make them a sticky so folks can get a quick look at vitals and what people run with things quickly.ill make the polls seperate from this thread.

  7. Alrighty straight to the Chase I'm sick and tired of my nv I know its going out just don't know when. I've decided on what I want to do but need more info that what i can find. I want to swap in an eaton 8ll as that was the tranny I grew up loving in the old dump truck we used as a grain truck. It's what is familliar and its an eaton. But I'm open to suggestionsMy problem is how in the heck I'm going to mount that big sob. What transfer case to use? What clutch and flywheel? Bellhouseing? Is there a kit somewhere? Then once it is in how to convert my clutch? Get one out of the donor truck and fab it up? What is my cruising speed going to be in 8 at 1800 rpm?I have 353 gea…

Thank you for your time. Im a new member with which may be a stupid question. I own a 2001 2500 auto. A few months ago i shut my truck off and it never restarted. I had no fuel to the fuel filter housing. I had my lift pump replace with an intank unit, first mistake, second i had someone that in my opinion now wasnt able to do the the job. After that didnt work a new injection pump installed, no luck. A computer diagnostic ran, no luck. I have no codes but truck will turn over but still wont run. After towing the truck home, i discovered a short in the power door locks fuse which controls the ctm. My truck has the anti theft feature but didnt have any symptoms before the …

So does anyone own one of these or know someone who owns one of these? OR, has anyone seen anyone else with one of these? I wonder how well they perform and do their job as they should? I think that the drawback is that it has to be under the engine like it is to be driven by a belt from the harmonic balancer... http://store.dieseltruckresource.com/9fubomelipus.html

  10. Hi there. Had my Airdog100 installed yesterday and the mechanic went to put the fuel pressure sending unit in and broke the nut at the top for the ground! I was wondering if I could solder that and make it work or figure out a way to use it where it will hold together? Guess it's not that expensive but why order a new one if this one is fine. I will include a pic and hopefully you can see it good enough to tell me. Thanks guys!

  11. Hey guys need some help. Does anyone have a picture of a stock lift pump or explain to me where its at. Im trying to figure out if mine is on the motor or in the tank. I turned the key on to listen for it and I didnt hear anything which might not be a good sign. I know the general area of where its at. Its below and behind the fuel filter housing if its still on the motor. I've seen two things that could be it. One is horizontal with the ground. It has a red chrysler sticker on it but i could read it because of dirt. The other is mounted vertically. Any help is appreciated

  12. First new to site. I have another vp44 question (sorry). I replaced my vp44 back in oct 2011 and also added the raptor frrp pump and i made a big line from fuel filter to vp pump. both were purchased form thoroughbred diesel. At the time i was working out of town and wife was driving it when it did not restarting in the wendys drive through. so i had her tow it to a diesel shop to be looked at. them came back with needing a new vp44 pump. so i order the parts and installed them, got the truck running and drove it 20 miles or so. Got home it sat for 30min and went to start it and it took way longer then normal. So i thought the pump might be making to much pressure so i…

While changing the oil today I had my filter off and noticed something odd. I cant remember if I have noticed this before but there are no nicks in the blades and it has no in and out movement and very little side to side. It spins freely fine and builds boost as it should but as you can see there is a chunk of metal missing right behind the nut.

Guys, NEED HELP ASAP!I do not have a low pressure warning light, but I have gotten in the habit of turning the key to the ON position and listening to the pump prime before I turn the truck over. I cannot recall if the problem started last night, or longer or if it really was this evening. So me and the wife went to the grocery store for a few things, which is about a mile or so away from the house. Truck started and ran just fine. Although I was stupid and did not remember to listen to the pump. We get done shopping and I put the key in to let the grid heaters preheat. I was putting my coat on outside of the truck as I was waiting. I noted that the airdog did not prime.I …

Hello everybody, I am about to purchase a bunch of stuff for my truck and I wanted to make sure that I had all of my bases covered. I've done a ton of searching and I'd like to thank everyone for everything they've contributed to this site. It's an awesome source for doing research!I've got an 01 QCSB 4x4 CTD, Auto, 3.55, 160k, and it's my daily driver when I'm not on my motorcycle. I had to replace the exhaust when I got it and other than that it's pretty much stock. I've got a 4" Diamond Eye from the turbo back. My main goal is reliability, though power may come later. Here's the stuff that I am going to buy in the near future. If I've left anything out then plea…

  19. I was told the VP trucks are brutal on FP gauges. My Stewart Warner needs some slappen' around to get it to behave right. Only 5 years old and an electronic sensor type, I'm disappointed. The pulsating is what is supposed to be hard on them but, how is that so bad on an electronic one ? I even had the Vulcan small orific to prevent that. Next weekend Source automotive is putting on a mechanical one. Is that what's best? What brand do you guys have that's lasted? Like to know a little bit on how they are made and what type is best for our VP trucks.T.i.a.
