Just done the crankcase vent mod w/some mods of my own. I liked the pictures of the mod but I did it a little different than what I saw. The pics. I saw showed the mod without the radiator hose which will rub against the pvc pipe when it is connected. Over time you will get a problem. If you take the 3/4" curved hose that is already on the vent to the canister you will see you can cut it to be a perfect fit to go around the radiator hose by cutting the curved part off. Put a short piece of 1/2" pvc into the hose, CLAMP IT and Attatch the 90% pvc then cut and fit the pvc to meet your needs. At the end , instead of using more pvc AS A DOWN PIPE I simply put a 3 ft. piece o…

Ok i did a search for power seats and did not come up with what i was looking for. I Have a 2002 QC and am trying to swap in a driver power seat. I did research this and it seemed that the wiring was already there according to what i found. I added the breaker and tested the wires i have. I have a 4 pin connector with 3 wires. I think it was the red/blue that powered up with the addition of the breaker it was the only wire not used in the seat connector of the non power seat. After all that i look at the seat i have as a replacement and it has a rectangle plug with many more wires then what i have. Obviously this is not going to work. Do i need a different seat? …

My Haynes Manuel says I need to pull the fan and fan shroud to remove the water pump. My question is, it looks to me like there is enough room to pull it without removing the fan and shroud. What say you? Tx.

I was leaking oil from my vacuum pump, and I just replaced the seals in my vacuum pump with the kit from Gould Gear and electric. This kit is great made the repair simple. I'm sure most of you already heard of them.

Ok Gang... I just got my replacement evaporator core from the local NAPA store. (Lifetime warranty - No cost) So when I go to pull the dash out I'm going to grab the video camera and record out the whole affair. Show you that pulling the dash is really easy on a Dodge Ram!

  7. Ok Gang... I have had enough of my truck need constant counter-steering to the left it get back enough I'm starting to have problem hold it straight. I've got 183K miles on the clock and nothing but front axle bearing have been done. Anyone got sure fire ways of inspection of the ball joints and tie rod ends to tell if they need replacing. I know I could look in the Dodge FSM but I rather hear from all of you that have done axle work and what to look for. I can say my tires are still wearing good and straight no feathering or tappering of the tread. I'm going to jack up the nose of the truck and take a peek and see what I can find...

Was wondering if anyone has done a mod to modify the stock horns to sound better/louder. I see that mine has 2 separate horns but they sound like they should be on a tricycle. I actually won't even use the horn because it sounds so awful. Any insight would be great.

  9. Not too happy right now. I went up to Harbor Freight today to buy some cheap azz tools that were on sale. I parked the truck a good ways out in the parking lot. It was a windy day but didnt really think anything of it. Go inside buy the tools and when I came out a damn shopping cart had gotten blown by the wind and collided with my passenger door. I just repainted the truck about 2 months ago. No dent but the scratch is beyond repair and the entire door needs to be repainted. I was so pissed I picked up the cart and threw it to the next isle over. Right after I went to the body shop where it was painted and the bill is going to be $400 to fix. I called Harbor Fre…

First off- very good site, stumbled on it in my searches for dodge info. It seems you guys answer questions instead of bashing people's ideas:thumb1:now for my question Does anyone know where to find a decent diagram of the 42 pin connector where the engine harness plugs into the PDC. (c130 in my diagram) I bought the mitchell diy thing yesterday turns out that was a waste of good money. When i told my local dealer what i am looking for they just told me they don't have it(seems like laziness to me) and that what i am trying to do can't be done, well i don't believe in CAN'T! My truck is an 01 1500 that had a 5.9 gas and auto trans. I swapped everything out of my 97 d…

  13. Hey guys, anyone have their Air Bag Light illuminate after R/R Steering Column? I've had it out twice making finer adjustments on the Rock Solid Ram Steering Column Fix (awesome upgrade by the way, totally improves steering response) and after the second time my Air Bag Light stays on. 1. Have I damaged a wire and if so which one?2. Have I damaged the clock spring? If so, how do you diagnose this? I look forward to your responses, and thank you Michael for running such an awesome site. P.S. This is on a 2002 and prior to the install no dash lights and no DTCs.

  14. on my 2000, does the stock aluminum and stock alloy steel wheels use the same lug nuts?

I installed the flip up tow mirrors a few years ago, and I can't be the only one wondering about this. When you have the mirrors flipped up, there's what looks like a removable tab that's on the arm, i'm wondering if it's not for like turn signals?..... anybody know, or just a pattern in the design

man, i've searched the net for hours, and can't find the info I need. Anyone have info on what otis/evic came on the '01's. I've got an '01 SLT with the standard o/h console. Trying to find out what system I can put in..... did I mention my wrist hurts from the moving the mouse....

  17. Thanks again for all your replies! It was definitely a shot lift pump. We installed the new FASS DDRP pump and it rocks. I am amazed at how quiet it runs. The FP gauge is also awesome and thanks to MoparMan for posting video footage of a properly set snubber valve! Mine is open less than an 1/8th of a turn and like Mikes the needle rises gently to 21 psi at idle and drops to 14 psi at WOT. I got the IssPro Tranny, Pyro, and FP gauges in the pillar pod and a 2" hole saw made a nice spot to the left of the ashtray for my Boost gauge. I will post pics of the setup.Next project is to repair my QUAD XZT+. The mice ate through the electrical wiring this winter as I must…

I am ready to upgrade the front disk brakes on my truck now that I have the 17" rims/tires on it. What recommendations do you have for new disks/pads? My budget will only allow a total of $300 for rotors, brackets and pads, so please keep this in mind. Fancy rotors may be nice to have, but the budget is my limitation.
