Am having a world of problems with the left hand outside rear view mirror. I shut the door and it moves and changes positions... then drive and hit a bump and yes, it changes positions again. Am getting tired of having to open the window every few minutes and reposition it so I can see. Evidently the guts inside are getting loose (just shy of 150,000 miles) and its not holding position. Anyone ever taken these apart and tightened them? This is the "towing mirror" version that lies flat or horizontal most of the time but can be rotated up 90 degrees for towing. Thx, Joe

I am doing a brake job, first one since owning the truck, and in order to get the rotors off the front, I need to remove the Caliper bracket correct? I was having difficulties getting those 12pt bolts loose and looked up their torque specs at 210 ft/lbs! Is that correct and does anyone have and tricks you used to get those bolts off? It feels like my socket is going to break. Thanks for the help.

I am going to change my rotors, pads and calipers. You guys have any experience with those pump up brake bleeder systems? One person tool, plus I can flush the lines out with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Once or twice per week my alarm will go off when unlocking. Thought it might be the key fob, changed batteries, used only the key to unlock, but it still triggered the alarm every once in a while. Hitting lock will shut it off, then I can unlock it without it going off again. Anyone else have this issue? Truck batteries are good too. Is there a way to disable the factory alarm? I'm sure my neighbors love the wake up call, although I'm not sure how much louder the horn is than the actual truck, ha! Thanks.

I've seen this a few times where people claim that cold weather will produce more drag on a vehicle just the cold dense air. So just for the fun of it I went and did the calculation on just the air drag part of it. Not factoring in other loses like fluid thickening... Here is the formulas I used Drag http://www.thefintels.com/aer/dragcalc.htm Air Density http://www.denysschen.com/catalogue/density.aspx Dodge Ram Specs including Drag Coefficient http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/ram_specs.html So using local information and building a test bed on this. Well Gang. I've been seen these goofy threads about people trying to figure out if a heater core is functional or plugged up. So since I took my truck to town for a job I figure I do the bench testing for the heater core to let you know what a good functional heater core will do. So measuring the vent temperature from the center vents with Bi-Level setting I measured...Fan Lo - 160*F roughlyFan Hi - 150*F roughlyOutside temperature - +10*FEngine Coolant Temperature - 193-195*FAs for the heater hoses they should not both be equally hot. I checked mine after driving about 6 miles from town stopped at a rest area and left the blower on Hi and felt both hoses. The hose from t…

needed to replace the power cord on a Perkins engine this week, and since I added this block heater myself a couple years ago, I was hoping KATS engine block heaters would offer a replacement cord. They do! Kat's 28216 or Kat's 28500 Both are about 15 or 16 bucks, but the interesting thing I found with these, is they fit the heaters installed in our Cummins. (just make sure which 'end' you need, round or tri-oval) They are probably cheaper than what the dealer wants

It's cold out know, like -40ish cold. Needless to say I have very little cab heat. Coolant temp is at 190 winter front is on truck, both lines on my heater core are hot, fan is pushing lots of air out the vents, deff, or floor heat, I can change the heater control and make the heater colder. Even when my Espar is on I still do not have hot air in the cab. If my heater core was not working properly would I still be able to pass fluid through it?If I can change the heat controls from hot to cold, my blending door should be working? If I have good flow of air out my vents, deff, and floor heat my a/c and heater core should not be plugged? If my heater core is returning hot coo…

  13. I really need some help guys, if anyone has any knowledge of the HVAC wiring in these trucks. just to throw it out there, my number is seven 6 oh, 405-3016. Here's what happened........................I really have no idea what happened, to be honest...one minute it was working, the next it wasnt. I lost the lighting in the panel, and the blower motor quit working. I've pulled the motor, and tested it on the bench, and it spins perfectly. I checked the resistor (visually) and it seemed fine, but to double check, I overnighted a new one from Rock Auto. This is where I can't figure out what's going on. I have 12v to the fan when the truck is on-it should be spinning,…

  14. Hi everyone, I was changing out my radiator yesterday and while taking off the lower radiator hose I accidentally, bull in a china shop sorta thing, bent my ac line. Bent it enough to crack it and it started leaking. It is leaking at the elbow right behind the compressor where it turns up to the hood. Is this the line I need to replace it? FOUR SEASONS Part # 56511 From Rockauto I searched the forums and couldn't come up with anything. I just don't want to order the wrong part. Thanks http://www.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=818191&imageurl=http%3A//www.rockauto.com/info/FourSeasons/56511.jpg

Also the instructions found on Blue Chip diesel where very much needed. Will have photos and short write up in near future, to tired right now. Thanks to all.

I have a bad pad that's grinding. I'm going to do a full brake job later, but need to buy some time. I want to replace the pads. Any words of wisdom? I guess I need to lube the sleeves that mount the calipers and make sure they're sliding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
