Now I'm going to be very honest here. I'm a very tech-savvy guy and I'll admit that I do things kind of short hand and want to fix a bunch of that for you guys and gals out there. If there is a function, prompt, text box you don't understand or can find something easily let me know I'll be working on improving the design of the website for functionality. Like right now I know there is a few issues with the subscription area and need to improve ease of use being I'm having to make phone calls to help get people changed over to the new accounts. This is only one example of what I'm talking about. If there is anything you see that doesn't make a lot of sense on …

Sorry gang. I had to get proactive on security the last few days. I found I've got a hacker here in the USA and a second one in Russia that has been trying to gain access to injecting either malicious scripts or attempting to upload files on the download section as a guest, etc. I've re-setup the google authenticator for the site. It's available for all users to use. I've made it requirement for staff and back end access. Google authenticator is a random number code produced in a time sensitive manner. You'll require the google app to run this but it solid for protection. Android Devices https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai…

Sorry to say gang. I'm going to stop production of the high idle kits. So after even working with @dieselautopowerand even my own cable company for getting another 100 cables produced. Is just getting out of hand price wise with inflation coming at me. So 2 years ago I would produce a 100 cables for about $43.89 a cable and with a minimum order of 100 units turns the price into $4,389.00 for 100 units. Fast forward now 2 years today it now $63.45 per unit for a total of $6,345.00 for 100 units. Means I'll have to increase the price considerably. Last two years was fairly slow on getting 100 units sold and it's not worth the risk for me to invest nearly $7,000 …

It's been a while since the last newsletter. I know some of you have sent me a few PM's letting me know of weird issues like posting and photo issues. I'm working on them as we speak. I'm also working on reducing the number of server errors created by the software. I know there are some posting issues some times I'm noticing that posts with photos tend to fail more. I'm not sure the cause of this as of yet but I'm looking into it still. Currently, I'm looking into an Apache server issue that is not providing information as required, and creating several log errors as the system is running. Some of you have noticed the website speed is improved. Yup, I'm still …

I'm totally sorry for not being around the site as much as I should I've been extremely busy the last couple of weeks. So now I know there is weird things happening lately on the web site photos acting goofy, and other weird stuff. I finally got the admin panel fired up for the Google PageSpeed Module. I've been slowly tweaking the setting and trying ot make more gains. Now I've managed to get the rewriting the images in better format. What its trying to do is take the old school formats like JPG, GIF and PNG files and convert them to WEBP format which makes a considerable savings. I'm going to keep working at getting this all tweak in this week.…

Well I got to say I'm sorry for being slow about updating the website. I've been extremely busy. STYLE / SKIN I'm not working on rebuilding a light weight skin to keep the web site fast and responsive. This means no heavy graphics any longer. I'm going to work on style with just colors and highlights. The old style with the side bar I will no longer be using. The reason why is at least 80% of the traffic here is off a mobile phone. I'm going to base the style on keeping the mobile users optimized. SECURITY UPDATE Next thing is no longer will there be a username login function you'll have to use your email address. Why? Because usernames…

Well here we are again making improvements to the website. Invision Community released there 4.6.2 version of software. The list is super long on the improvements and fixes. The software is upgraded and most of the plugins like Garage have been upgraded. I've got to rebuilt my skin for the website completely all my previous version was wiped out and not compatible. So you are looking at the stock Invision skin right now which I'll build into something light weight for mobile phone users and quick and low bandwidth usage. This is why I waited so long. No sense in design a new skin if the upgrade of software will wipe it out. Being 80% of the traffic here on the website is …

I've not been posting much but I'm still behind the scenes and working to make the server perform better. I've been working on cleaning up server errors and performance issues. Some of this requires long phone calls and working with tech at the hosting company. Like today I just spent about an hour on the phone dealing with server errors and the lag associated with the errors. More of these I can get rid of the faster the server can be. I've finally out ran my knowledge and now have to get help to make it better. The tech I talked to I asked her to have the master tech pass along the information of the setting and why they changed to the new settings and why. …

I know there has been weird issues between email and other systems on the website. I've managed to fix the email issue with Microsoft and got email flowing again. One problem has been solved. Email is flowing once again. Now as for page speed I've now got the server painting most of the page (largest colorful paint) in under 1 second (roughly about 800ms to 900ms). I've added a few modules to the server like mod_cpanel and mod_pagespeed. These two modules reduce the amount of calling for system files and caches them instead of calling for the same info over and over from a static configure files. Pagespeed attempts to re-write the page code to make pages faste…

Ok gang... I need to step this up and get a bigger selection of parts and goodies going. So what would everyone like to see in the store for parts? I'll tell you I've already got agreements with @dieselautopower and @Vulcan both for distributors for parts and goodies. Working from them what would you like to see here? https://www.dieselautopower.com/ http://www.vulcanperformance.com/ I'm going to start with mostly 24V stuff for now and then build outwards including the other generation being the majority of the group is 24V trucks, then add in 3rd gen and up. I wanted to start out with Quadzilla tuners again, then injectors, BHAF, etc. …

MOPAR1973MAN.COM TRAFFIC REPORT Since the change of the donation system to subscription system has not slowed the site down much. Traffic continue to grow month after month. Since we started the change over in mid November its be constantly climbing for traffic. SERVER PERFORMANCE As for the search engine the gain I made timing wise now have majority of the site in the "Need Improvement" realm. Like I mention before web server building is just like building a race truck you constantly looking to ditch a little more drag and gain back a bit more power. Yeah I know the web skin is rather "plain jane" but I will circle back to looks being …

SUPPORT TICKETS AND GETTING HELP ALL MEMBERS and CUSTOMERS: Please people when something goes wrong with your account, payment transaction, or product sold to you please DO NOT personal message me directly or any staff. This typically ends in bad results of missed messages or getting lost. PM flow so fast for me its extremely easy to miss or delete by accident. Not to mention PM's also only I can see the issue, no other staff can see my PM box. If you create a Support ticket all the staff can see the problem and typically they can either remind me or come back and find it. On the support ticket it up to the submitter meaning (You the member) to RESOLVE the tic…

I've working long hours digging into the server and trying to make it the fastest I can to meet all the Google requirements. There has been several changes to the core of the server that has improved speed considerable. Add and configured disk cache software for the Apache server.Comparing memory cache vs. disk cache is way different. Basically in a nutshell the server creates templates of pages and instead of running the PHP code and render the HTML page it just pull the template out and re-uses the info again. Saves processor time. Then now I'm attempting to change the PHP handler from CGI (Old school PHP handler) to the FastCGI (Up to date PHP handler). Thi…

I'm going to ask the membership pool for help here. I need clean pictures of your truck. Why you ask? Well there is a grid layout function for the forum listing and right now there is no photos in those places so the page turns up large grey blocks. I want good clean photos of your trucks in these places. Please try to get outdoor photos with clean background. I want to showcase a few trucks in these positions so start get that camera out or digging through your garage photos and link it here. Needed for all GENERATIONS... 1st Gen, 2nd 12V Gen, 2nd 24V Gen, 3rd Gen, 4th Gen, and 5th Gen... So to show the grid function. So here i…

I'm finding that my background was too heavy and took quite a bit of processor power to render the artwork. I'm going to be drilling into the artwork and skins to reduce even more server loads. This is partial why I close the garage for the moment. I'm redoing it and reducing the picture loads and size so the photo can render faster. I'm so close to get the site fully accepted by Google but my biggest downfall is render time. Hence this why the grey background and no longer the tire print. I can play with colors, and other things to make the site nice looking but have to drop the heavy photos that are 2 MB to 6MB in size. These still need to be render and tra…

You all might of noticed the Garage had left for a bit and now returned. Also you'll noticed that all the entries are gone. Yup I erase the entire database for the garage. I allowed big photo previously and it was eating a hole in the storage on the server. So now all the photos have to be less than 1 MB. This allows for a good 1024x768 photos. I can restrict the dimensions of the picture (1024x1024) and the file size of the photo. (1.0 MB). I changed up the database of the information captured. I added in more stuff. I wanted to capture shop customers vehicles as well. This always members see the trucks I work on. Also the shop customers can see other member…

Just heads up I know there is a weird issue with the server loading pages. I can see it on my MySQL server in aborted connections. Then I can see it in the Apache Server logs as a "AH00717: Premature end of cache headers." After about 4 to 5 hours of tracking around on the internet I found that its a Cache Module Bug and has been listed on Apache software website. I'm looking for a work around if possible. I'm aware of the issue but I figure I'd post this to if anyone out there sees weird error pages or trouble loading pages I can look at getting it resolve. https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=59744
