I have a blast pointing mine at things. I want to know what all you guys have monitored and the temps you got, no matter how crazy. I'll have to post some more pics of the things I have done later. I did this today when I got tired of being frozen with the 30mph gusts and wanted to experience a desert, hour and half of full blast heat.. The passenger seat was even 105F Needless to say, I was shirtless and sweating so at least I reached my goal lol.

haha.....so i went to change the fuel filter yesterday, took it out, changed the filter, drained the can(first time i've ever done that), put the filter in, and did the starter bump thing...the truck ran for 30 seconds, then died, so i bumped the starter a few times so the pump could cycle....after about 6 times of that, i opened the can to see if it actually was working....and of course it wasn't........ so long story short, i went to o'reilly's, got the Air Tex stock replacement and am waitin on reinforcements to show up to help me R&I..... now for the point of why i think so many of y'all gave up on CF...here's my thread over there http://www.cumminsforum.com/fo…

So suddenly it's a priority. Unfortunately it's been siting uncovered... Yup, that green tarp did not make it back on last time! Last time I jumped it & had the motor running, I could not get the reverser to engage. I had a mechanic come in for this previously & discovered after we got the deck plates up that the piled mouse poo, acorns & litter on the top of the tranny was frozen/physically blocking the crazy linkage (from left hand lever under the steering wheel to right side of the transmission). I did convince a buddy (retired from town highway dept) to come by. I had the side deck plates off though not the one right center (console to un…

After decades of voting against (and losing to) the liberal majority here in Massachusetts, today's election gave me a small fraction of hope. I never in my wildest dreams would have believed a Republican would win Ted Kennedy's senate seat. We haven't had a Republican senator in more than 30 years. On Sunday, Barry Obama came here to support the Democrat candidate. He made fun of Republican Scott Brown because he drives a pickup truck with over 200,000 miles on it. Talk about Obama being out of touch with the average American. Brown said in his acceptance speech, which of course CNN didn't cover, that he draws the line when someone makes fun of his truck. I'm not …

I had been plowing with my backhoe... but please recall my MS has gotten to the point where I can barely walk a few steps. My dear wifee wants no parts of plowing with the backhoe. I suggested putting a plow on my signature truck... long cab + long bed... It's not the most maneuverable in close spaces. She's did not like that idea either. To be honest, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to drive myself nor certainly how long to keep the CTD TRUCK. So she's plowing with an ATV we picked up. Bombadier 650 with a plow. It gets it done eventually BUT if it's cold, snowing, etc... it means fully suiting up. Said dear wifee is 65 yo. I am think of a Jeep type vehi…

Realization: My dog Spud sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has His food prepared for Him. He can eat whenever He wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to Him. He visits the Dr. once a year for His checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this He pays nothing, and nothing is required of Him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than He needs, but He is not required to do any upkeep. If He makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has His choice of luxurious plac…

Does anybody else remember when Dodge pickups had the Perkins diesel engine? I seem to remember it was around 1976 or 1977. I saw a red one at the shipping yard and it was the only one that I ever saw.

Well... I had a go to Taz's house to give him a hand with his truck and computer. But since this computer stuff... Taz's computer is a AMD 3.0 GHz with 1 GB of RAM 2 40 GB and 1 200 GB hard drive for a total of 3 drives. Well the strange part was it was rebooting randomly and behaving poorly. Well I tried reloading the Window to it to repair the issue and found that the main 200 GB hard drive was present but not functioning propely. What I mean by this is the drive was present in the BIOS boot time but the drive won't not read, write or format... So during the install of windows you try to erase the partition and it would not erase (error). Hmmm... So I pull …
