I arrived home yesterday to a darkening cloud... I rushed into our entry. The thunder started... a dozen booms over 15 minutes. There was a loud & distinct snap, and a half second later a loud boom. All the GFI outlets in the house popped. And the cable box is dead. No phone or internet. I still have TV (and a back up antenna system). So I am typing this from Mc-Internet... Appointment Monday to get a new cable box.Russ

With my MS, this heat is just trashing me. Wednesday, I was so wiped out... guess it wore me down. I already have trouble walking but could barely get 1 foot in front of the other. Even though the Cirrus has AC, it heated up at each stop. I only have AC down stairs so I retreated down to the (walkout) basement. Soon after I started shivering (temp was 72). I was too weak to get the supper Sheila had left. I called her & she was nearly home. My temp was 102 at that point... so only "Heat Exhaustion' since heat stroke begins at 105. To tell the truth, if my waking was the indicator, I was in trouble before I went out. I vegged out yesterday. Took it easy mo…

Well welll http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/ecodiesel/ Still, 420TQ just puts it next to the ford ecoboost. There is no reason they can't stuff a 5 liter in it with 600TQ. There is definitely something fishing going on as to why they put such a turd in it. I am betting the intent is MPG and that would surely get it, if emissions doesn't get it first.

This is an official thread to 98 to give proper feedback. Sold me an edge comp and went off with out a hitch! He was very patient with me and waited longer than I thought anyone would ever be willing to. Regardless, a straight man to deal with and would trust! I got the comp in the mail before I even managed to get my money order in the mail!BTW, 98, it is in the mail, should be there soon!

The rule of law has adminstered, so people will too, now. Zimmerman, acquited according to language of law. Its not ours to decide innocent or guilty.Yet, now as predicted we see, NOT, protestors, but RIOTERS. They call them protestors, but we can clearly see they are carrying actions out in a riot fashion. GO FIGURE... Whats even become more striking is what color of skin is doing it. Not being a racist, but observant.Needless to say, they are people who want a reason to cause destruction and really have no legitimate ties to the trial or family. What people will use for a scapegoat... :rolleyes:Time to lock n' load!

While I was driving thru the neighborhood today to go up and get some white oak that I couldn't fit on the truck a month ago............I drove by a house/lot that has essentially sat vacant for 10+ years now. It's right on the water..........Lake Miltmore.............I fish there a lot. Anyhow, there was a crew clearing the lot of all the "volunteer" trees.........mostly ash/box elder. After I got my load of oak back to the house; I went back (less than 1 mile) to the above. In my best "Spanglish", I was able to communicate with the amigo that if the cut wood was free, I'd take it. He said, "Si, Si, Si"!!!!!!!So 2 small loads in Mighty Whitey got me this. The pix …

I went to denver to go white water rafting and took the jeep with its fancy new 3 core radiator which runs around 200 under normal cruise. I went all the way up pikes peak nonstop and it got to 210 and that was it. It was kinda early in the morning so not a lot of people were out while I was up there. I stopped for a couple hours climbing all along the rocks trying to kill myself and it was noon by the time I started going back down. I just threw it in 2nd gear and let it whine all the way down and there is a checkpoint around 5 miles below the summit since the final 5 are the hardest. They check for brake temperature and its a resting point if you are going uphill s…

Has come to "The Peoples Republic of Illinois!!!!:hyper: It's "shall issue", but with a host of restrictions just to get it passed with the Chitcago reps and sens in Springfield. We'll work on the restrictions later.................many of them are where law abiding Chitcagoans need protection the most. Whatever!!!:banghead: The restrictions won't affect me............as I don't frequent those areas at all.:smart:The General Assembly over-rode an amendatory veto by our Gov................Governor Jello...............by a huge margin. Jello tried to add a multitude of more restrictions to the bill the the General Assembly passed, by they said FU by there huge over-ri…

Well Gang... Our local fire department purchased 4,000 gallon water tender. It's a 1984 Kenworth Water Truck. It's got a Eaton/Fuller 9 speed transmission. So far I got a quick lesson from one of my fire fighter in my station. I've mastered the up shifting just fine but down shifting I tend to get stuck. So maybe there is a few gents here that done some big rigs that can school me up on shifting this beast. I got to admit its a wonderful water truck (Cummins Big Cam 400) it climbs steep mountain grades with a full load water without even struggling. I've just spent 2 days driving it around loading water tanks. So could some one give me some pointers... This is what I found…

My Brother in law is going through a pretty nasty divorce right now, and without knowing all the details, I'm getting them second hand right now, but from what I gather, his lawyer, the judge, and the psychiatrist involved all pretty much told hiom they don't give a rats ___ what happens...but his wife is trying to taken him for everything, mainly because she doesn't want t work, and wants him to pay for everything. There are two sides to every story, but supposedly his lawyer, who hasn't done anything for him, has somehow locked him into a contract of sorts. I'm just wondering if anyone on here is or knows a good family lawyer who might be able to at least talk to him …

In an effort to save you guys (and gals) from a long, drawn out story of how this is coming about, I'll try to keep it fairly simple.. My wife (and I, a little bit) wants to move to the WA/ID area, from Virginia. My concerns are as follows: [*]Cost of Living [*]Employment [*]Schools/education quality for my kids [*]Median income If I do decide to make this move, It'll be quite a culture shock for her, and a little bit (climate-wise) for me. I'd much prefer to have a job lined up PRIOR to making the decision to move, as that would be the smartest thing to do.

I had a project I want to try doing is trying to relocate the raspberry plants that are growing up in the lawn in front of the house. So I grabbed a piece of 3 inch plastic sewer pipe and cut off about a 6" slice. Took the grinder to the end and tapered the end so it would cut sod and roots.Using my hand sledge and a board I would beat the pipe down around the plant and try to cut out a sod slug with the plant trying not to harm it. Since this is my first shot at it I would be surprised if any of the plants make it. :whistle:Here is the original source of the plants. Here is the new location along the fence line. Then my monster thorn-less blackberries at the front door.

My fallen brothers, I give you my respects...Hot shot crew killed in AZ fire.. 19 people. I have not read anything about it, but I bet it was a crownout. Question is whether or not they used their shake-n-bake bags, or how effective it was if at all.My father in law was a smoke jumper and suffered through a crownout. Shake n bake bags were not as advanced as they are now. Used it to hold air as him and his crew jumped into a pond. By the time it was done, the pond was gone...These people truly served our country!

http://www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/US/WA/Yakima.html?MR=1 Its a big heatwave hitting the PNW too! Arizonans, you can keep your HEAT! The rv thermostat said 95 when I got home. Both AC's running. Put the awning out, seemed to help a little... Work was fun... Atleast I only have to work 10 hour days in it instead of 12's. Sweet 4th of July, my saving grace! It was reported to be 19% humidity, but walking out, you would swear 100%!!
