I searched the forum before this post but still not clear on this type of headlight. I was looking at these to replace mine due to the usual fogged lense, anyone on here know anything on these or have them? I like it but I dont know it almost seems a little to good to be true considering it sounds like you get the pair for 177 unless im mistaken and some H.I.D. kits that arent legal but true H.I.D. are 200 plus for the kit if it is what they are cracked up to be I will definately purchase due to the fact that after 6 deer to the front end my headlights have suffered to the point of almost hitting other animals at night because I cant see them so me putting them in wouldnt count as good review since a flashlight may be better than what I have so they will most likely appear better even if they are worse, the same as or better than stock if you follow but I'm givin it some serious thought though...

those are H1 Halogen Projectors. you wont find any HID projectors sold for our trucks. I almost bought that headlight set and was going to do a HID retrofit on it but changed my mind as I did not want to mess with the Halos. plus the 2.5" projectors are a heck of a lot more expensive than the 3" E92's that I bought. the HID kits themselves you can pick up for under $80 shipped, two of the most recommended are DDM and VVME. I bought mine from VVME.

well thats the reason bulbs have specific socket sizes, and reflectors are designed to use that size. thats why cutting the tabs on a 9004 headlight socket to fit a 9007 bulb is a fruitless endeavor, yet people still try it just to get an extra 300 Lumen. HID kit manufacturers circumvent socket reflector relation ships when they rebase HID bulbs. eh same tired old subject that I hounded on over at CF ....

I'm not active on CF... I'm glad to hear you understand the physics. I learned many years ago with my off road (non-DOT approved lighting) that the "high powered" H3 of the day was only half the issue. The optic quality made a world of difference. It's easier to measure power than optic quality. It's like bombing the truck... it does no good if you can not control the power. I'm so glad that you "get it". Best Wishes,Russ

Not to hijack the thread but I believe I'm am going to purchase a set of these lights simply so I can see something at night and they are as affordable as stock and I think something smells a bit fishy here check out the price at lmc http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/full.aspx?page=48 this is the only reason I havent purchased lmc truck has so far been the cheapest for every exterior/interior repair part and now they are over a hundred bucks more what do you guys think I really arent in it for the looks I just want to see past my hood lol

almost a year ago...i saw a tv show(trucks!, or 2guys garage, maybe). they showcased a product the took the yellow out of the lens. it was a device that chucked into a drill. u "polished" a slight layer off the lens and then applied their chemical to it. on the show it worked wonders.i have been trying to figure out what to do about lighting also as every other car out shine mine and if i keep driving while holding the brights on...i'm gonna blow the switch

Helps make them look new and clean and helps keep the sun from oxidizing them too. I have been doing this on my 2005 caravan since new and when I see other 2005's mine definitely looks better.

if you got the stock headlights just save your money, the chrome finish on them is crap and thats a big reason why dodge headlights suck in general.

After doing alot of reading I found that HID aftermarket lighting is illegal in all 50 states.

Then as for me out here in Idaho I use 100w seal beam bulbs for fog lamps/driving light and they do a awesome job over the stock head lights.

can some explain to me what it is that make my lights suck. the bulb, the lens? if the grids are not hitting...there should be plenty of power,right? could i pillage something from the bone yard and retro fit it into my lens assembly? or is brightbox the only "legal" solution

combo of issues:

[*]the reflectors have probably one of the worst chrome jobs in the industry.

[*]the lenses oxidize like mad due to no UV protection.

[*]the electrical system is poorly designed, if you feel the light dimmer switch after driving a few minutes it gets very hot to the touch. the multifunction switch absorbs massive amounts of current causing it to burn out.

the most road legal solution that is not necessarily the cheapest is

[*]get a relay harness (this will supply voltage directly from the battery to the lights improving output)[you will want to get one made for the next suggestion]

[*]install sport headlight (has very good chrome on the reflector + the lenses are not fluted like the stock headlight. diffusion is done at the reflector)

So does anyone have some links to some good headlights to buy online? There's so many headlights out there it's hard to pick which wil be good to get. I see guinessbrewer's post with the links to Amazon, just wondering if anyone else has any

those are projectors, not HID'snot all projectors are hids, not all hids are projectors.These are H1 style halogen projectors with LED halosi am an ebay power seller of chinese junk for a living. i know this crap inside and out.all this white box stuff is made in the same place. QC is out the window. just buy whatever and deal with it.you can buff out your stock lenses pretty well...the lense polishing kits are only 6 or 7 bucks.
