Hi there, I am fairly new to the diesel world and was looking for some help.  I have a 1999 3500 dually 4x4, manual, 5" exhaust, bhaf, Edge Juice with Attitude CTS, Southbend Clutch, and a airdog.  I tow a 10,000 pound fifth wheel with the truck, and it performs ok but It will never break 22 pounds of boost.  It has all new turbo hoses and clamps and a boost elbow and has been boost leak checked.  It runs right up to 22 pounds and stops.  I have great fuel pressure, but it feels like the truck is stopping the boost from going any higher.  I have also set all of the settings on the edge so that it would max out boost at 37 pounds.  What am i missing?  I had plans to upgrade to rv275's but I don't think adding the extra fuel without the boost would be a good combo for towing in the mountains of Colorado.  Any ideas.

Have you tried running it with the hose from the boost elbow to the waste gate actuator disconnected?  With the waste gate not allowed to open you would see your max boost pressure.  If the Edge wasn't boost fooling the check engine light would come on along with defueling.

Nope, I have not tried that.  I will give it a shot, and just so I understand correctly, if I unplug the hose from the boost elbow you are saying I will see an increase in boost levels?

It is the preset one that came with the edge.  So if I unplug it and I see an increase in boost levels, does that mean that it is my wastegate is stuck open or partially open?

Be sure to cap off the end of the boost elbow before testing with the wastegate disconnected.  Otherwise it'll leak and you won't be able to see of there's an actual gain in boost levels.

Thanks, I will give it a shot and see what happens.

If you see an increase that will indicate that the waste gate is opening to soon when the actuator is connected to the boost elbow you have.  Factory boost is limited to about 18psi.  The boost elbow I have with my Edge EZ will give me a max pressure of 26-27psi and then settle down to 22-24psi.

My 99 would max out and hold 28 psi on wot with the stock hx35w.and a 60hp program. All I had was an adjustable elbow. so I believe you have a leak or your wg is opening early.

In my experience the edge display is NOT accurate. For example.....edge would display 40psi. Mechanical gauge said 62psi.
