So I bought the filter kit for the fast coolers buddy has the other style of filter the yarn filter. Is there any problems with running two filters or is that wrong.

Yes I have one fast cooler and one QK, I don't think nv45 needs extra fluid like the 56, but running one extra qt isn't going to hurt it, make sure all your vent are free of dirt.  QK is not made

I wouldn't do it like that, oil won't flow as good being so far back, it's gears flinging it in a hole and gravity drain. Plus sticking a mile out may not have room. Just use fast coolers on both side

As for running two filters, I don't see a problem.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about filters but add a few good strong magnets on the PTO covers. Being all the materials in the transmission are metal and would be captured by a good strong magnet. First, transmission cleared 260k or so when I broke the main shaft. When I opened the transmission up there was ZERO debris in the case and very light fine dust on the one magnet in the case. I was using nothing but the Mopar 75w-85 fluids and changing every 100k miles.

Currently running 50 SAE Mobile Trans Fluid GL-4 Synthetic and still clear at nearly 40k miles and just over a year old.

Now that's putting some miles on, 40k in just over a year!

When you look back at my monthly fuel logs I started in January... This all kick off back in October.

Does anyone know if this nv4500 top is what's used on a 99 cummins. 4 bolt top I believe they call it. Don't quote that.

Got any links so we can see what you're doing

http://www.quad4x4.com/catalog/category/filterkits so he has this. I have this.  https://www.genosgarage.com/product/fast-cooler-manual-transmission-filter-kit-fc-filterkit/new-products. I would like to run both. Plus a magnet on the bottom so particles are pulled to the bottom. And when I stop they settle and are caught.

I don't know if you will benefit from both, I belive the reason you put it on passenger side is oil gets in there easier.

I have QK1000 on my truck, didn't know fast coolers offered a filter, otherwise I would of went with it instead of QK, as you get 2 coolers,  one can have a filter. QK is better suited for tighter places imo.

key thing is not to overfill oil too much, so it can still drain out of filter, mine is 1/2" below fill hole of filter and roughly 2.5 qts over filed. So I got fast cooler on driver side and QK on passenger and have close to 8qts of oil in nv5600.

can't wait to pull filter off sometime this summer and see just how much it trapped.

It looks like the proper gear case cover.

Alright good tranny had the wrong size shaft just wanted to make sure they sent it with the right top.

Wait so you only have one fast cooler not two. Not one on each side. I thought the QK would slip inside the Fass cooler. IMO I would benefit from both just like your engine having bypass filter plus oem. I figure it will

have roughly 7 quarts of oil in it. Nv4500 takes 4 quarts? Plus coolers is 2 quarts. Plus one in the top for overfill. 7 total. What do you guys think?

QK is not made to go inside fast, it is its own thing.

Thanks Yeah I saw my vent line kinda weird place haha. I found that photo of a cooler with it maybe it won't work

I have an extra filter that came with QK, when I get it out I might put it on tcase and get a filter for fast and go that way.

Like DieselFuture said, you can only run one filter setup, and it should be on the passengers side.  Reason for this is the filter needs oil to flow through it to work, so to get this flow, they use a deflector to catch the oil that's slinging around the gears.

That is what this lip does here.  It works like a hood scoop, in that it grabs the passing oil and diverts it into the filter.

That's where the oil goes in, and in order to come back out it needs to go through the filter.  That's why it should be on the passengers side, that way the sling-off from the gears is going the correct direction.

Because of this, you can't run two filters, as only one can utilize the gears sling off.  The second filter would not be doing anything.

Alright sounds good thankS. I don't think my tcase has a spot for the QK but I'm gonna find out.

Makes sense so for that to work. It needs to go into the transmission with the flap up and on the passenger side. Flap down wouldn't  be as effective?

That is correct, the deflector must be pointed up.
