Was driving down the road and what I thought was an inch of water turned into a foot or more. Truck just shut off immediatelyand none of the gauges work and my edge doesn't communicate. how long till the stupid ecm dries out? At least I'm pretty sure that's what happened.  98 24 valve 

Any codes?

 

Maybe remove the ECM and let it dry out more thoroughly? (if that's even the problem)

Remove all pin connectors and blow out with air? The VP, ECM, PCM then blow out all connectors in general.

And dielectric grease all of them 

Turns out this stupid fuse is acting funky. I was checking all my fuses cause my cluster wasn't doing anything plus my edge wasn't powering up when I turned my truck on. I grabbed it and went to pull it up and all of a sudden everything came to life.  I forget what its labeled under the hood but its located on the top left

No do not put dielectric grease in the ecm connector cavity, your asking for problems there that's why there is a rubber seal in the engine harness plug to keep water/debris out. Cummins will tell you exactally that. The connections need to be clean and dry no foreign material at all in the ecm connections including dielectric grease. Seen it plenty of times at work ecm plugs packed full of that crap lots of  connection issues. Cleaned them out and they go away. That's my two penny's on the deal.

Typical cracked fuse problem. I've seen this quite a bit. The fuse element will not blow out and look totally fine. But if you ohm test the fuse it's an open fuse. Then if you remove the clear cover and gently push on the fuse element you see it separate. I've seen this on the starter fuse and few other large square fuses. These are the only ones you cannot use a test light on.
