I can't get fuel pressure to go above 11-12 till an hours worth of driving.

 

I have all 1/2'' lines and tested everything else I can think of.

 

Even tried two brand new AD 150's and bypassed the filter, still the same low pressure till warmed up for an hour or so.

 

And the thing that's strange is you cannot find any problems with Raptor pumps on any google search beyond 2013. It's like they hired someone to keep all searching clean of problems before that year

 

It makin me nuts

 

I have not alternative except to turn up the regulator another 1/2 turn

On my pump, there is a little screen on the inlet side of the pump. Mine clogged about 5 years ago. Never been a problem since. 

Could you be gelling 

I knew that problem and took them out during the install. Just blew air into the lines back toward the tank. Reprimed it and now runs bouncing around 14. Up just 2 psi, I think it's the regulator and might be the newer version non ball and spring type.

 

Want you all to know that the regulator has been put on 19psi two previous times and it's only 10,000 miles and 9 months old now. Last adjustment was done last week. Oh and I bleed the mechanical gauge just to be sure

 

We are 40 and 45 degrees today. last week was colder at an average of about 30 degrees. So gelling is not a problem.

 

Just got back from a 2 hour run and FP is at 21 idle (takes an hour or so to work its way up) but   drops 5-6, way too much for 1/2'' lines. Other truck has older AD100 and does real good. Always on 19 with only a 3-4 drop in pressure

It does sound like a regulator, wired that it would work a fret it ran for a while. It almost could be an electric motor, have you checked amps. Just thinking out loud.

I do think its the regulator. Been studying them a little and see how colder thicker fuel would cause the valve to be closed more than warm fuel.  When warm, the regulator valve is allowed to open more and pressure works its way up to around 20, which takes over an hour of driving. The other problem is when warm enough to get psi around 20, it is allowing pressure to drop 5-6 psi on wot, which is out of range for a new set up with everything being  half inch on a VP Motor. This might indicate needing a not so soft of a spring to help it open the valve more on wot demands.

 

 I'm pretty sure the regulators are a newer version in these latest Raptor pumps, different from my old AD 100 on my other truck

 

I think I heard Mike Nelson say something about that too......  that the older ball and spring being better than the new version.
