Any advice on front bumper beginning to sag?   Barely noticeable to me right now but obviously not going to get better.   Anybody make support brackets or is there anything I can do?

  • Feel the love. I did a search and found two chrome ones and no articulated taxidermy ones. This is the closest I could get. http://www.empirechromeshop.com/p-3933-standing-rooster-chrome-hood-orn

The bumper is just bolted on to 2 front brackets and 1 one on each side.

I had to readjust mine. I loosened up the bracket bolts and put a car jack underneath with some padding. Got it pretty close.

Also the plastic underneath was getting loose so I removed all the rusty small screws and thru bolted with stainless screws. I looks good and tight now.

I think you'll recognize Dripleys truck by the hood ornament... Its a taxadermied chicken on there.

Might need more than glue, it is huge at 6 and half inches tall. And who knows @015point9 it might make good replacement bumper bracket.

Mount with a spring loaded cable. When thief comes along trying to steal it the BB gun behind the grill shoots him in the belly.

OK thanks folks.  Beginning to look like my truck is starting to frown.   Someone always could mount something like a good size chicken where it's sagging and it would look like the weight of the chicken was making bumper sag.  Heavy duty chicken.

Be careful with stuff if bolted to your hood.  Years ago a co-worker lost a finger when shutting a hood on a Mack truck.  The ear on the old style sharp eared bulldog caught it.  That day until he retired his handle was "fingered Mack".  Not sure how a chicken could "finger you", but be careful.
