  • I don't think it's a bad idea to have oil temp if you tow with above 350 rwhp. I think there is a reason Cummins dropped back to a 190° thermostat and added an oil temp gauge on the 13+ trucks.

    Yes you can use tranny temp sensor and T in where oil filter is, but it's a waste of effort, I did it and oil was always about same temperature as antifreeze. About 10 degrees higher then antifreeze f

  • Yea that looks like where quad tells you to install it so that’s my plan.

Ah gotcha. 

 

I already have my trans temp installed and hooked up to my ISSPRO on the steering column, so I figured I got this spare wire on the harness I might as well use ya know lol.

I don't think it's a bad idea to have oil temp if you tow with above 350 rwhp. I think there is a reason Cummins dropped back to a 190° thermostat and added an oil temp gauge on the 13+ trucks. 

 

I'll be putting one in my truck this spring to know for sure thou. 

If you install one there is plenty of depth on the oil filter head in the port closest to the head. It won't effect flow and it will get a good reading.

Report back after a while with difference in temps between oil/antifreeze just so we can all compare our experience
