That is just plumb crazy! Looks like that entire area must have had heavy torrential rains that saturated the ground and the entire mountain side just slid down hill.

Imagine what it would have been like to see the grand canyon being formed!

Here is the amazing part. Arrows dictate the flow of the water. That dashed line is the colorado river. There is THAT much water being held back.
