I was wondering if a board member can buy a raffle ticket?

 

Also my work truck has horrible bad headlights. So bad, I ran over a big chicken in the road    Chicken soup.

 

Anyhow is this conversion kit an easy kit or do you have to work at it a bit to make it fit? If I can't do the raffle I will go buy one. Thank you.

My original OEM headlights were singe bulb (9004) with the fluted lens.  I relayed those light right away so I could get my 45 watt's worth on low beam and I drove the truck for a few years until the lenses began to discolor and get cloudy.  Then, for three or four years I tried different junk internet lights.  I confirmed they were junk.

 

Finally, in 2016 (50,000 miles ago), I installed my current sport headlights with aftermarket housings and clear lenses.  There is room for improvement, but with Danie Stern's recommended halogen bulbs, they work far better than any previous headlight.  Last summer I was able to locate and install a new (the last one in the U.S., I think) OEM right sport headlight housing and lens -  I cannot find an OEM left one. 

 

Because the optics in the sport headlights that I have (one being an OEM) are satisfactory and do put light on the road where it should be, I am interested in finding an LED bulb that will be an improvement and give me a few more years with my current headlight housings and lenses.

The 9007 LED bulb that I am using currently has not received a single flash from oncoming traffic while on low beam and there have been plenty of opportunities for it to happen.  If I would have been flashed even just  two or three times, I would have removed them and put the halogens back in.

Same here. Installed mine August of 2017. I've yet to receive a single flash from oncoming traffic. I've even been in front of my truck in other vehicles with my wife driving on my butt. The LED beam was bright hitting the mirror but tolerable. I've had halogens hit my mirror harder.

 

My only complaint with the LED headlights is they run very cool so the snow and ice doesn't melt off during inclement weather.

A new market - Headlight Heaters!  Maybe a low wattage incandescent bulb will make its way back into the headlight housing to melt snow and ice.  That would be funny.

Same with HID headlights. Too cool running and I've had them snowed over rather quick in bad storms.

I have that problem with the Motorhome, the windshield has so much surface area that in a snow storm the defroster can't make a dent in the snow build up on the windshield, so we just have to pull over and wait it out.   Which is fine as long as you are not coming down a mountain and get caught.  Last time was across the flats headed into Seattle and had to stop and overnight in Cle Elum.  Once we pulled off and dropped to 25 MPH it was able to get a toehold.   Sunshine next morning lot easier travel.

Well, I guess I'll have to go to DAP and buy my own sport headlight conversion since the raffle didn't pan out for me.  Congrats @Bar GN
