I pack mine with a thin layer of axle grease to prevent oxidizing of the aluminum and make them easier to come back off in the future.

I know when I got my new wiper motor, it said something and instructions about cleaning a ground that can cause intermittent issues. I believe that ground is somewhere on the motor or buy it.

  • Ronnie,   I have had them stuck before too....   Spray a bit of penetrating lubricant in there.  With the lock in the out position, I use some small pry bars, and slowly and carefully put so

Yeah I've sprayed them up good i will try again tomorrow cant believe how expensive the arms are in comparison to a new motor...

Ronnie,

I hope they come off for you... they can be a pain!!!   You may want to try a little bit of heat too, if you have a heat gun (or just a hair dryer.)  this also may help working some penetrating oil in there.

In the old days of US cars, the wipers had a center bolt.  So you could use a special puller (like a gear puller) to get the suckers off.....  Hey just think, this (the new clipped slip ons) saved a good 3 minutes per vehicle during manufacturing!!!!  It doesn't matter that it is a nightmare for you now!

You have to raise up on the hinged part of the arm before sliding the pin out.

@Haggar yeah European cars are like that much easier i will try some heat when i have 5 minutes away from work..

@98whitelightnin yeah it's just seized on the spline i have been lifting the wiper to slide the clip out

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I put in a new motor today but still have no intermittent mode. Can the CTM be swapped with a junk yard unit easily?
