So after reading most of the forums i could find im still haveing the wide open throttle issue. I put a new APPS on it calibrated it started the truck up worked great. But if i turn the truck off and start it back up its wide open throttle again when i touch the gas then back to idle when i let off. But i can unhook the battery cable for 20 minutes or so hook it back up start the truck and it works fine. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks. 

AC noise from the alternator most likely. It fouls the ECM and PCM. Look for the WT ground wire mod in the articles. Then have your alternator tested for AC noise.

I would say you have an bad ground somewhere, but then again I've been more wrong than right about such matters. Still a bad ground creates an unbalanced electrical system to where AC noise cannot be absorbed by the batteries. Most often it originates from an alternator that still shows adequate charging but is beginning to fail and thereby emits excessive AC ripple. Mopar1973Man taught me all this stuff so hang around you will see the beginnings of a good education around here.

I checked the alternator and it was actually bad, so I put a new one on it and still have the same issue. so should I start checking all my grounds?

It would not hurt to check the new alt out. Some fail out of the box, more than you might think. Checking grounds and general elctrical health is always a good idea.

I've had alternator fail right out of the box. I always bench test before leaving the store.

I kinda look at it like something that always has to be done from time to time.  There are still a lot of trucks that never had any grounding connections checked/ cleaned since they came off the assembly line.

 

I suspect you might have a good alternator but still have a bad ground somewhere.

Sure you aint been smoking the high altitude Oregon logs again?  AA HA HAAAAA old friend. Couldn't resist that one.

I had to quit smokin that oddball tobacco and start a clean cut shaving program since everyone thought I was a hippy that also might smell bad if they got too close........

You need to get out west Bud.... before your too old to enjoy being around our fire with a few

I wish I could post up an old picture of this old hippie.That was my past occupation, but I got paid for going to work everyday. I kinda liked that paycheck on weekly basis, Sure made it easier to pay the bills.
