Had some good luck in the last 3 weeks and I suddenly have money for a Quad and I have a few questions.

I have a fuel pressure gauge in the truck already so is there any real reason to get the fuel pressure sender for the Quad?

I have RV275 injectors and a stock HY35 with a spring on the waste gate and make about 28 psi max.

Trans has a stock rebuild on it done about 25,000 miles ago.

I'm not looking to make 500 hp or anything I just want 275-300 hp.

The most important thing right now is fuel mileage. I'm getting 12.5-12.75 right now.

Is there a tune on here that anyone would recommend for my combo?

Is there anything I need to do before installing the Quad?

Can I just put the Quad in without hooking it up to a computer or does that have to be done before use?

I do not plan on the wire tap at this time. If i do it in the future i will use a Stealth Plate.

Thanks for any help and please feel free to give me any advice that may be helpful in getting this thing up and running.

The toughest thing to handle is the timing. That depends partial on weather and fuel type (winterized or summer). Quadzilla was design more so with performance in mind but with some careful thought an

it might I suppose.  the ecm will see low boost related to tps input it might be in a state of overfuel all the time.

Random guess though.

also can check air intake temp cause i think that would contribute as well

Quad V2 ignores intake temperature sensor input, timing is not affected by it while the quad is in control.

timing may not be affected by it but i think fueling would be just like coolant temp changes fueling if your coolant temp is low your going to use more fuel

I made winter inserts for the grille and iat is over 100 anytime I've driven it this winter. Usually 120-130 range. Pulled it out and cleaned it not long ago. It was pretty much spotless.

Fueling is not controlled by temperature.

I know it is on a common rail

Not in vp world. And not in the quad coding.

Correct... ECT and IAT have zero effect on fueling. ECT and IAT both in stock form control timing. Quadzilla wise the IAT is dropped and not used.

@Gregturley I decided since most of these sensors seem to be crap anyway, I picked up one on Amazon with prime 1 day shipping for $25... All it has to do is beat the $70 rock auto sensor's 30 day record lol. Went for a quick drive and it's within 1 or 2 psi of my 100 psi gauge up to 40 psi.

I should put these damn things on a quick disconnect to make them easier to change. Maybe an air chuck.

@kzimmer I came really close to the same. If the Cummins sensor craps out in short time it will be Amazon up next. Let us know if yours dies anytime soon please. One of the truck shops we outsource stuff to said get one made by Standard if i didn't get a Cummins.

My Standard,$90 from Oriellys, lasted about a year. Failed when the VP did. Coincidence, maybe.

@dripley and stories like that made me get a Cummins. $13 more than what i would have paid at a local store.

Oriellys told me the new has a lifetime warranty, Standard also. Lost my old receipt and they had no record of me buying it. So I saved this new receipt and the old sensor and figure I will have a mysterious failure in the near future.

Now that's hilarious. Standard Motor Products was the last one that died on me.

I have had good luck with SMP until that sensor failed. It failed ar the same time the  VP was failing. And i mean the failed simultaneously.

Very interesting. Can't help but try to draw lines to connect those. You did yours on the road too, right? I can just imagine getting through a VP44 swap and then having no power because if a failed MAP sensor on the test drive.

When the failing it was going in out of working and not. During the times it wasworking you could the MAP sensor doing the same thing. Got the new pump in and had to order MAP delivered at home and drove 200 miles with the bad one.

@dripley what difference did you notice driving with that bad map? Was it completely dead 0psi at all times or giving lower or higher boost readings?
