Hey yall I have a 99 24v I broke the dipstick tube off and I'm cheap and cant justify the price from Cummins for the 2 piece so I was wondering if any of yall know if the 02 style one piece will work

If you upgrade to 02 dipstick get both the tube and the dipstick. There the same capacity ofr oil but the tubes and dipsticks changed over the years. Plastic vs metal tube. Even the length of the dips

All I can say is it's best to keep it original, keeping in good shape. My 2002 truck is different than my 2001. The 2001 dipstick has a factory riveted extension to the end extending it about 6 or 7 inches, so I'm assuming the tubes are different. My advice is just get the one at Cummins and be careful next time.

I went to kenworth and priced everything out but I couldn't justify again spending another 85 dollars on top of almost 150

@Mopar1973Man have you ever seen someone change over to the 02 style? Will it be a simple press in and I'm good? I guess I will do a write up on it when I get done with it tuesday or Wednesday

I'm pretty sure everything is the same. The hole in the block to the mount on the air horn. Just the dipstick and tube are different from truck to truck. 98.5 to 02 truck all hold 11 quarts. Industrial ISB engine may put the tube on the passenger side. Still the same hole size in the block.
