My little brother has a friend who owns a ranch in central Kansas and during the burning season one of their trucks got caught on the fire and they let it burn to the ground. It was a 2014 Dodge 3500 with a G56 and like the title says, is it possible to save the motor and transmission? Obviously the motor looks like hell with all of the plastic melted and ashy and rusty since the fire baked it, but I was curious if I could get a good deal, basically next to nothing hopefully on it, if it was worth saving and reselling some of the parts like injectors and internals, or even using the G56 in my 2000 that still needs a transmission. :duh: Thanks!

As far as parting them out, I don't know about that either. If I were looking for parts I wouldn't want anything from a fire damaged truck. That's a lot of heat where heat shouldn't be.

I would say depends on how hot it got, could jeopardize integrity of metallurgy :2cents:

Complete loss. I mean there's like 0 interior and you can see the ground in the cab....

Man I don't know, if it was almost free and you had a bunch of time them at worst case you can scrap it, maybe you get lucky and can salvage some of it. All I know is if you heat metal passed certain temperature it changes structure.

I've thought about it but it'd need a rollback. My brother was the one who informed me about it and he actually popped the hood and gentle touched the valve cover and it turned to dust. All of it.
