1995 Ford F-350 - Tire wear on one tire

Posted
  • Owner

Being I normally deal with mostly 4WD trucks out here. @Jthor truck has the driver side tire wearing on the outside shoulder only. I've been thinking about it and want to verify my thoughts with others here. The outside shoulder of the tire is wearing this is what I think...

Excessive camber on that side

Wheel bearings are loose and need repacking.

I'm hoping others could chime in with their knowledge to verify this.

I would agree on the camber. Possibly a toe in setting. Wheel bearings, I don't think they would cause such tire wear unless they were ready to fall off. Does the tire appear to tip out at the top? Maybe put a level on it vertically and see a ballpark for the camber?

Wouldn’t bearings cause wear on the inside?

Usually but he said it's on a ford. Might be backwards......lol

Is this one of the fords that have that long control arm setup in the front? Those were known for weird tire wear.
