So I have 2 nv4500's and the plan was to run both of them into the ground & get the  cryogenically treated ones. But for the same cost I could get a g56? But Idk anything about the swap. Any chance y'all have a thorough write up? / what might I I need to do it? 

Edit found info but I think I'll just wait. Just exploring options my u bad can delete this thread.

I'm not impressed with any 6 speed. Like myself I've got Thor which is my 2006 Dodge with a G56 transmission. Lots of rowing of gears. Now Beast my 2002 Dodge is only a 5 speed and way less rowing of gears. I'll admit I've got 436k on Beast and wore out plenty of gears and broke the main shaft at 3rd/4th. Just got done replacing the input shaft and the counter shaft after wiping out the input gear.

Well I love stick, but everything I find online even a cryo nv4500  is still pretty weak. I'll probably eventually get a medium duty 6 speed and swap it I think eventually.

Yup. Got a few door stops too.

Some people put an Eton Fuller tranny in. There are few members here that did it. That's another one of them things that if I come across a good deal I may get and at some point put it in. But if my nv56 lasts then no point doing all that work. For you starting from scratch may be a good idea.

 It would be awesome though to have an Eaton fuller 10 speed. Don't know if it could be done with a 4x4 though.

I believe there's a 6 speed Fuller that is easier to deal with and possibly use 4x4 if anything use a divorce case. 

That would be cool. Sound like a lot of fab work. I don't trust my own welding enough. Lol

Yes it can and has been done already. But you find out it just a big pain in the  to drive. Rowing a bunch of gears just to daily drive not fun. From what I remember you got to row the first 5 gears to even get to 25 MPH. I know there was another member that done a Eaton/Fuller 6 speed and turn out good but again heavy modifications, reworking the frame, reworking the transfer case, making adapters plates, lots of custom work to get it in there.

 Yeah I bet it was. In all honesty I like the nv4500 5 speed. The sycros are no good going into 3rd so I just either double clutch 3rd or float into it. Either way it works out. 

 I tow through a 10 speed at work enough. I don't think I'd want to drive a 10 to get home to. Lol I like getting out of my slow, underpowered truck at work and getting in my dodge. It really feels fast then. Lol
