That sucked.. :) My arm is all scratched up from givin' the ol' Cummins the 'reach-around' :lmao:

At any rate, the old sender was bad; it stayed at 70psi, even with the engine not running..

So dually was kind enough to send me a spare he had (many, many thanks, dually, btw!)

Now, the OP gauge is working properly, and the Edge is now reading oil pressure..

idle, operating temp, is ~55psi, and 2100rpm is 77psi.

184k mi, and due for an oil change..

At any rate, thank you, dually !:thumbup2:

That oil pressure seems VERY high!I sit at 20-22 warm idle, 58-62 normal cruise, rarely break 80 even with cold oil. The stock oil pressure relief valve opens at 70 ± 5 psi.

So I took a few pics.First is at startup, then cold @ 25mph. Then idle for the others (note coolant temps) Note that just before last pic, at 2000rpm/40mph, it was 65psi. Those look about right and lower than your first post, depending on where the OEM sender is the psi will vary. I can idle at 40+ until the oil warms up, which is after the coolant gets warm.

My 98 always has higher oil pressure than my 03 did.

The 03 didn't ever have a real gauge, just a moving idiot light.
