I'm a Non Motor Head Old Fart. My truck is described in the Sig Sec of this post. I currently tow a T/T of 8K. My CGVW is 16K (8K Truck & 8K Trailer) as per Dodge. I want to move up to towing 14K . What do I need to do, if anything? I have Boost, EGT, and Tranny Gauges. I have a Banks P/P and a S&B Cold Air Intake. :confused

1. You need a fuel pressure gauge. Keep your fuel pressure above 10 PSI always2. Your going to need a upgraded fuel pump (FASS, AirDog or Raptor - You should do this upgrade regardless of horsepower upgrade or not!)3. You going to need a upgraded torque converter and valve body to keep the trans going. (You should do this upgrade regardless of horsepower upgrade or not!)4. Then you could add a enhancement box to gain few horse power to pull the load. (Edge, Smarty, Quadzilla, etc)

Thanks. I have had my Lift Pump changed out with a FASS, at least I think it is a FASS. With the Banks Power Pack I should have the HP to pull the extra pounds. I will pursue a FP Guage and TC/VB Transmission upgrade. I have a local MotorHead that I trust to do me right. Thanks again.

Not to make you sound like a dog; but, "Good Boy"!!!!! You'll be glad you did this in the long run!!!! :thumbsup

In addition to what has been mentioned above, I would suggest adding a Mag-Hytec Double Deep #727-DD transmission oil pan and add the largest fan cooled second auxiliary transmission oil cooler in line with what you have on the system currently. http://www.mag-hytec.com/store/index.ph ... c424c21f97 You will also need a trans. filter with a deeper pickup neck on it. http://www.mag-hytec.com/store/index.ph ... c424c21f97 I would also add the Mag-Hytec differential covers which will double your differential oil capacity in addition to the cooling fin's added cooling on the aluminum covers. They look REAL nice too. http://www.mag-hytec.com/store/index.ph ... c424c21f97 http://www.mag-hytec.com/store/index.ph ... c424c21f97 They will make a HUGE difference in the operating temps of your axles and transmission. Be sure to verify which Dana axle you have so you get the correct diff. cover.
