ok got to quiet down the beast the wife complains openly and I know the neighbors under there breath and got pulled over last week [no ticket] so thats that 3 strikes I guess been looking at hushpower and also this 30 inch fte resonator any thoughts? ps I have the mbpr muffler in there but its just a flow through

Could go back to 3" and straight pipe... It not as loud...

It has something to do with the pure size and length of the pipe that causes them to be loud. It seem the larger diameter tend to drone and amplify sound the longer and larger diameters. After riding in Relentless70 92 Dodge truck with a hood stack proved that to me instantly.

Time for a new wife and neighbors just kidding. FTE makes a resonator for about $80 I believe and I have heard of guys running a donaldson muffler under there to quiet it down also.

Donaldson is what I run. Not getting any complaints.

If you want a resonator to quiet down the exhaust go with the longest one. I had the The short one and it will quiet down the in cab drone but not affect the exhaust sound but I have heard the long resonators from FTE will quiet things down a little bit and still eliminate drone. Mount the resonator as far forward as possible best results are right to the down pipe for drone elimination.I think a muffler would be best for your situation though.
