Could just cut an inch off the end and reinstall it. The area where the clamp is is already fully compressed and deteriorated and by cutting an inch off gets you to fresh hose and will get the leak to stop. Other than that you just need to replace the hose and or go to a regular worm gear hose clamp.

Couldn't it be the lower part the part thats attached to the engine?

It might be, but it wont cost you a dime to shorten the hose to find out. Shorten the hose and reclamp it and see what happens.

It could be but its hard to sse by the pic. Just drain the coolant screw it out and put some new thread sealer on it and put it back on.

Looks like its time for fresh hoses and fresh clamps. I know there isn't much slack to the heater hoses you might be able to cut that 1" off but getting the stretch to get it back on might not be there. Also when you buy new clamp don't get over zealous with the screwdriver. It take very little clamp force to seal a hose at 14-16 PSI. I don't know why I see people torque the clamp so hard the the rubber is squeezing out of the worm gear slots. This is wrong! Take notice ot the clamping force of the old spring clamps and you want about the same force. :smart:
