This turbo has the steel tube from turbo to waste gate actuator. Is there a way to get a small boost increase?

Yeah but it's a little difficult.  You have to remove the turbo and tighten the rod on the waist gate. If you decide to do this you need to drill out the little dimple on the actuator before you turn the rod.

Google " hy35 turnbuckle " & go to the hardware store. You will also needd a boost fooler/tuner.

This turbo is weird. There is a steel tube between turbo compressor and the gate actuator. I have studied the turnbuckle fix and the J-Hook from bullydog that adds spring tension to the gate. Are there any more options? Will more boost help me at stock without investing in a tuner to add more fuel? I know I will need at least a boost fooler.

I paid around $2 for a 6" turnbuckle with 2 hooks on it at lowes. Would let me boost as much as I wanted before I did the hx35 swap.

Do you hang it on loose so it can open a little to limit waste and increase pressure?

I have an HX that I am getting rid of if you are interested

Is the HX like 98.5-2000? Guys seem to like that one better between the two, why? Just because of the elbow?

Thnx, Dave

The HX has a bigger exhaust housing. It is either a 12 or 14cm where the HY has a 9cm housing. The hx was 98.5-02 on the manuals and 01-02 autos were the HY35. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Correct.

With no or little mods, the HY will spool quicker. As I said, I have the Adrenaline on mine & can run pretty clean with the HY turnbuckled.

$2.00-$4.00 for the turnbuckle & $30 or so for a boost fooler, or get a tuner that does boost fooling.
