Not sure if this in in the right catagory.

I stopped for fuel this morning and noticed this new fuel was available along with the regular diesel.

I am not a fan of additives I don't know about.

I googled it and there is a lot of info but its over my head.

Anyone know what this is about and should I consider using it or just stay with the regular fuel.

Of course water and dirt are always a concern for anyone with a diesel.

Regards Chris

Somebody explain to me how or why you would put an inert non flammable substance in fuel and claim to make it better? I don't understand.....

I guess I will keep using the regular fuel.

I have a feeling that the "additives" they put in are just chemicals that they can't get rid of any other cheap way.

They have been known to do that with gasoline.

They also have been known to destroy fuel BTU content to keep people buying more and more fuel filling the pockets of the oil companies. Higher the cetane the lower the BTU's so in other words the higher the cetane the lower the MPG's.

The bottom line is , it's a marketing ploy dreamed up by a advertising specialist.

EXACTLY.

So in gasoline, the higher octane, to a point, the better, but in diesel the opposite is true, interesting!

And thats why I asked , I just knew it smelled like a scam. The V power fuel is 2 cents more a litre as well.

Really glad I stayed with the regular stuff.

Thanks Chris
