What do your guys's trucks do when you stab the throttle from idle? Yes I know I shouldn't do this but I'm wondering if what mine is doing is normal. Does yours just ramp up without any sort of hickup??

Should, yes but is that what yours does? Like I'll stab it and hold only till 2500rpm and let off, but it kinda sputters and shakes a bit as it revs up. Not smooth at all. Wondering if this is part of my "issue" or if it's normal.

Mine does a quick rpm jump with a noticeable RUMP sound off idle.

I don't know cause I've never done it. Seems like abuse of your vehicle. I just want to keep maintenance costs to a minimum and reliability high.

I've never stabbed it up to 2,500 RPM... Maybe 1,800-2,000, and it's smooth as can be. No hiccups or hesitation.

Have you played with your programmers (changed settings, and/or turn them off) to see if it still does it?

Yes I know it's not the best for it. I'm still trying to figure this missing issue out though so anything I can do to diagnose.....

Yes I have turned all programmers off and I still get the same thing happening.  Thanks for the replies.

Can you describe the miss? I can't find your other thread. My 2000 had a slight miss at idle but it ran great.

Nope,  yours is not  normal..     I'm  guessing your  'miss at  all  rpm's- 14 pages  worth'  :ashamed:       is   very much part of  what you are hearing/feeling.

Common trick  is  doing  just  what you did.   a  quick  burp up to speed   with no load    gives  a  tuner  something to  listen for.     Smoothness,   gapless  noise  at the tailpipe.     This  is  something  that  being in a moving  vehicle  under power and with the hood shut.... we'd never hear or feel.

These  days,     we really can't do this  in   gas vehicles  anymore!    The  computer is  going  bat crap  because  the vehicle is   going  0  mph,  and   giving it   a  burst like  this  has it all over the place for   mixture.. or other limiters     kick in.

Greeeaaaaat. That just confirms my suspicions. I'll just sit here and wonder...... What could it be

Weird though today it only did it half as bad... That is the normal miss and a throttle stab.
