Ok here it is y2k Cty auto with fass 95 at the tank stock filter setup.

If I park it up hill I have to reprime it in the morning. If I clamp the fuel line

On the inlet side of the fuel filter it start right up. I have a gauge line plumbed in where the supply line goes into

The injection pump and I have checked this area back to the filter and sending unit new oem filter cap rechecked

For seal no fuel leaks found anyplace back to the tank. Which side of the fuel filter should I be looking? Thanks for the help

Did your fass come with a check valve? I believe mine did when I got it. It should be plumed between the lift pump and the tank.

Fuel pressure gauge shouldn't be hooked up right at the injection pump. That is the strongest water hammer pulses and does the greatest amount of damage to fuel pressure gauges and fuel pressure senders. Fuel pressure gauges are best hooked up at the last filter and not the injection pump. This gives some buffer area in the filter also giving some distance from the water hammer source.

 

As for the loss of prime run the truck and shutdown. Quickly pressurize the fuel tank with air so the fuel in the lines will be forced out of any leaks. Just use a rag and a air gun on a air compressor just need 1-2 PSI to make it weep and make a wet spot. Typically pressurized lines after the pump will leak naturally because of fuel pressure while running but suction side lines never leak. Because while running its sucking air in and when shut down it still sucking air in to purge out the prime.

The pump came with an inline screen type filter only. The return manifold was serviced awhile back and all the seals replaced. I have been considering a check valve in line between tank and filter.

Check the things Mike posted as well. When you clamp the line which one are you clamping? Return or Feed?

After a run remove your fuel cap very slowly and listen close for air suction like the tank is under vacuum pressure. If it sucks air your tank vent may be clogged.

There is a way to do the vented cap mod too if you wish. Just drill an 1/8th inch hole thru the underside of the cap in between the little spokes on the star wheel looking dealy bob. Drill thru the white plastic first layer only not all the way thru.
