Where to carry my 2000 Honda generator ?
I’m thinking I will go with a 2 inch front receiver hitch and a fold up curt cargo carrier. Honda and a couple gas cans maybe a spare propane bottle . And yes always bring lots of cord to put it away from you. Domestic Brisk 2 in the top roof hole and a easy start. We want to go south Nevada Arizona New Mexico like in the first part of October and November home by thanksgiving. Both retired now and we don’t have a problem driving the alaska hwy in the winter a bit to come home. We are trying to shorten up our long winters a bit But we can’t leave Alaska in the summer June July August September maybe don’t need the ac but I really hate being to hot.

Where to carry my 2000 Honda generator ?
My pa would have beat me for driving down a rough road to fast and not checking the oil regularly. But when I took all of his screwdrivers and drove them in the ground he thought it was pretty funny. He gave me a shovel and made me dig them all out

Where to carry my 2000 Honda generator ?
When my truck camper was built here locally 2O years ago the Honda gens had just been out for a bit so I had him make a bin left side rear to put it in .it ended up be a little high off the ground. But I was young and tall and it wasn’t a problem. Sometimes when I’m just by myself I just put on the floor passenger side. Or on the 4 wheeler trailer but when I have a passenger and no trailer I would like to have a hitch mounted basket to put it in. Basket on left side of hitch. I have folding stair that come down also. So I’m looking for a ready made setup that can be shipped or any ideas. Or I will have to go see a welder .pictures later of my camper rear. If I can get then sent. Thanks

Sealing Vent Hatches on the RV Roof
I had my camper resealed about ten years ago They literally took it apart and put it back together and it wasn’t cheap. $1600 as I recall. It’s 20 years old. The sealer they put on it this time seem much better. It’s the old question to cover it tarp or custom made to fit cover about $ 900 or just reseal I don’t know the answer. I put covers on my fantastic fan vent and the a/c hole and just replaced to furnace top cover. We get normal 5 ft snow here in Alaska and sometimes to 11 ft so snow load is a big deal. My stepson scoops it off for me maybe once a winter. At 71 I can’t go up there anymore. .All I really know is once you get any major moisture in a camper it’s almost a goner What about flex seal. Spray on or brush

Truck stuck in 3rd gear limp mode
Alaska is not for everyone winters are long cold and dark. Summers are very nice but pretty short. Tourist come and marvel at its beauty then go home little do they know what it’s like in the winter. I have been here 32 years now it’s home . I’m a sourdough now 30 winters make you one. Still not quite crazy but just a little bit we will never leave sometimes in the middle of the winter we get pretty crazy it’s the great land

Truck stuck in 3rd gear limp mode
Ok late last night I had a couple thoughts go thru my brain on the up and coming transmission repair. Want to bounce it off you guys. After the fluid is drained and the pan down and the parts replaced can I/ we test the 10 amp fuse in the power distribution center by turning the key on no start to see if it blows before we put the pan back up and add the new fluid . Also I spent $250 on the two quality parts should I use the two new old school parts I have in my emergency jockey box as test dummies. I would hate to compromise my new expensive parts to test a fuse. Then replace with the good ones. What do you think ?

Truck stuck in 3rd gear limp mode
Okay I’m a bit confused here. I have ordered two electrical parts for this transmission A GM governor pressure sensor and what bd and others call a transducer. My $100 big service book is calling it a pressure sensor. I’m seeing it now. Pressure sensor and transducer are the same. Only two parts to change out. Not three. I was a bit concerned. Thanks want to do it right the first time Yes I can see both sides and a middle to the issue as well.

Torn between the two 6.7L's need opinions
I just love the quote My dear old dad told the same years ago but I didn’t listen. Stock didn’t suit me. Cost me a lot of money and heartbreak but it was fun I guess?

We are dropping the pan to replace governor pressure solenoid and transducer. Two small parts known to go bad in 47 Re trannys. New filter and pan gasket and fluid. We are are not taking the valve body down or off at all so shouldn’t be a problem

Truck stuck in 3rd gear limp mode
Ok a update. Third shop turned me down on a pan drop fluid filter and two parts needed to fix my truck. They never even seen the truck but wouldnt do it. Why won’t these shops work on these trucks. It’s very strange. So I ordered a GM solenoid and transducer should be here in a few days. Off to Napa for some atf + 4 and gasket and filter. My neighbor and stepson will be my creeper monsters and I will the topside tool man . Hopefully it will fix the problem. Results to come in a few days?

Truck stuck in 3rd gear limp mode
I hear you. I’m going by the shop tomorrow to see how receptive they are to doing just what I ask and not try to over do it all I shall see what the level will be. First shop said it was a electrical problem and they couldnt do it because it was past their expertise. Really I told them what I thought it was. They never even dropped the pan duh

Truck stuck in 3rd gear limp mode
It goes into a shop on the 28 th of may. Worse than making a doctors appointment. They were /are three weeks out on their work schedule it seems. My days on the creeper in my garage ended a couple years ago when after left hip then left knee but the right knee replacement cinched the deal No more creeper. If they can’t won’t do it my 34 year old stepson will have to do it for me. But he has a wife job life and kids and I don’t want to be a pain in the neck but I do take care of his kids a lot. Pay back time ?
