  1. Hey, if you need a core nv4500 that one sitting on the left can be for sale.... I do enjoy stirring the pot!
  2. But rowing through gears.....
  3. How strong is your transmission?
  4. Hey, the turbo timer kept them from shutting it off while the exhaust was still hot too! The quad is the only reason I'm not worried about any engine / turbo damage while it was gone. I set it to lvl 2 for my dad to drive home too. HA he probably would have "played with the power" on the drive home but he couldn't
  5. I have a 3-5psi difference until I get into the mid 40's, then they remain dang near perfect until the MAP sensor is maxed out at 62psi. Mine kept having a dirty "puff" like you have mike. @Me78569 and I determined it was because the boost was flying up and the refresh rate wasn't fast enough for a smooth curve in fueling. That's why my 15psi percent is lower than the surrounding percents. Lowering that effectively smoothed things out. If yours is all wiretap, I'd just hold off on the wiretap until a higher boost to keep it clean.
  6. And I would recommend DAP all day long. Lot's of good builders out there! I'd go with whatever is cheapest. If you're sticking with the edge I wouldn't go over 100's, and you'd have to be careful with the egts on higher numbers. I'm not sure what your altitude is , but I could peg a 1600* gauge with 90's and a hx35. Same thing with an he351cw and 90s. That's with the edge all the way up though. 100s would be fine for a larger turbo as well. My best mileage ever was with 125's and a 62/65/12 If you're going with quad, you can "detune" it below stock, allowing you to run virtually an size you want and still keep things in check. On my lvl 2 tune, I'm pulling 40psi of boost and can't get egts over 1,000 unless you lug the crap out of it. Maxed out on lvl 3 I think I can get to 1200 or 1250.... can't remember for sure. If you leave it on lvl 1 someone can steal your truck and you don't have to worry about them blowing it up
  7. I don't see it as cheap. I think our veterans and enlisted service members deserve a discount for their service and dedication to the USA! Send @dieselautopower a message as well. It's normal for the actual manufacture to charge higher prices than their distributors too. Plus Jacob might be able to hook you up with a military discount! Good to hear! I promise I'll get the truck on the dyno with the quad vs the TST-smarty stack at some point. I just have to grow the grapes to bring the truck back to Denver
  8. How's updating the app coming along? @Me78569 said some progress was made, but it wasn't fully functional yet.
  9. Yessir. I've been mulling over ideas with my brother, dad, and a couple others. I will not be posting it, but it will be done. Alarm system I will have to work on. Not sure what to get yet. Something like this for $5 a month seems worth it as well. https://www.verizonwireless.com/connected-devices/lg-gizmopal-2/ it's soooo nice for getting around in tight spots!! I do have a gooseneck hitch, a 2" ball hitch, and a 2 5/16" ball hitch in the truck at all times for a reason! It's also part of the reason I bought a small flatbed trailer.
  10. I don't think that would hurt anything, just make sure it dries out before you put it back together. Tried some pliars on the compressor wheel and got it to turn.... it's hard, but it does turn. Still can't get the SOB off though.
  11. 40-50 miles max. I could hardly tell the gauge had moved. I think there were 350 on the trip and it was somewhere near 300 when it was taken. I honestly don't know where the cops found it. Someone reported that "a truck had been sitting there 2 weeks and it shouldn't be" Looks are all in the eyes of the beholder. I love the way mine looks, but some would say it looks horrible.
  12. Yeah, the 5600 is a jerk when it has a dual disc in it. My brother's is an SOB to speed shift. His speed shifting is my normal shifting
  13. Haha it was just outside so my brother could change the oil in hes fiance's car. It's now sitting inside the shop locked up. There's a lot more money in that shop than the truck! Plus, it's locked up tight in a good neighborhood where people shoot trespassers!
  14. Sitting at home waiting on the insurance adjuster. I'm glad she's home safe!!
  15. We'd like to keep the shaft and exhaust wheel. Might convert it into a hx35-40 hybrid. Scared to hit the shaft on the end because we don't want to bend the shaft. Not sure what it'll mess up bearing wise either.
  16. Well, that didn't work either. The turbo is no good as it is, so destroying the wheel really isn't a big deal.
  17. Edge video??? You can't just say that and not explain yourself!
  18. If I had a spare one I might let it be used too
  19. With the custom tuning, you can add as much fuel down low as you want. That's why we have % of stock from 0,1,2,3, etc psi. You can put 125% of fuel at 0psi if you want, but it might be smokey. All up to you and custom!
  20. In order to keep from derailing this, I suggest looking through this thread. @Me78569 and I put our 2 cents in. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-performance-parts-discussion/2098265-edge-jwa-level-7-update.html
  21. We used PB blaster to try and get it free. We then held the exhaust side with a socket and I wrapped a sock around the compressor wheel and tried to spin it. It wouldn't even begin to budge, and I'm not a little guy either. I think the wheel is going to have to be broken off.....
  22. I shift fast enough that it drops into gear as the rpms drop, then I try to catch them and keep them steady before releasing the clutch. All of this is super fast though haha!
  23. Nope, it's better for the disc and surfaces to do that. You won't hurt it.
  24. We were able to get the nut off, the wheel is stuck on the shaft though. Anyone have any ideas?
  25. It all depends on how fast you shift I guess. I depress clutch completely while letting off the throttle completely, pop it out of gear, then as the rpms drop into the right range slide it into gear and step back on the throttle to keep those rpms the same until the clutch is fully released. You definitely don't have to, it just causes less wear on the syncros and clutch.
