China's Rainbow Mountains
wow, never knew those existed, in China or in BC, but I'd agree with the one caption that someone was playing withthe contrast/saturation a bit to get them THAT colorful.

Is This Wood Worth Any Money?
can you tell if there is any tiger striping, or any other grain enhancments? Plain straight up BW in 2' logs you could start at $100 a chunk and negotiate from there I'd say. If you got s special grain going...it goes higher. All depends on what they'd want to use the wood for. Gun stock, turn some bowls ets.

Is This Wood Worth Any Money?
as a previous poster pointed out, BW is spendy if it is in long lenghts. Here in MN it runs about $8 a boardfoot. I build furniture for play/toy/truck money and unless it's "rustic", it's not good for furniture (too short). If there is some good grain patterns people will pay good money for a gun stock, but that pile would make a LOT of gun stocks. Sadly, it looks like most of it will be firewood. It burns with a nice sweet odor (to me at least).

A Hair Loss Conundrum
feel lucky, my next door neighbor has a "condition", I cna't rmember the name (alopetia?), that ALL his hair has fallen out...the meds to keep it just wasn't worth the side affects. When he moved in he had a full head, now he doesn't have even eyelashes! I'm also gaining my father's eyebrows.....if you can believe it, if I let them grow out, they can actually get split ends! I once let them go to over 1.5" long...needless to say the g/f DOEN'T like it when I do that!

New from MN
well, it's been a few days and I heard no dissent, so if you are interested you can follow my journey on the restoration project at the link below. Lots of pictures during the progress of the project and no sucking up space here by posting stuff. See if you can find the diesel Dodge in the pics...one of my favorite pics taken that day. http://p15-d24.com/topic/26461-ggdad1951-truck-project-montage/?hl=montage

A Hair Loss Conundrum
is it migrating to your back like mine is? I've gotten to 45 w/ a fair amount of hair (especially compared to my brother and my nephews) but I think it's starting to catch up on me finally. If it gets too thin, buzz cut or shave for me. No comb overs for this kid. From a heat trransfer standpoint your head is a HUGE heat sink/rad. So maybe the free convection is making it feel warmer?

New from MN
I can point you to my '51 build thread on a different forum if you are interested, but I didn't do it off the bat JIC that is frowned on here. Gotta learn how this place works you know!So a general question for the "old timers" here: do you prefer a thread to be started on a build (with all the attendant questions/answers as well as progress) so you can follow it through and such, or break it up and keep a build thread to just the build progress and keep the questions seperate? Because I DO have questions!

New from MN
Seems the "thing" to do, introduce yourself! So "hi!". I found this forum from the DodgeForum.com groups. Long story short I pretty much just finished restoring my greatgrandfathers 1951 Dodge B-3-D truck, and decided that I needed a new project. So, after kicking ideas around I decided the buy my buddy's 94 2500 diesel and figure out how to make it old and new at the same time. So I'm taking 2 51-53 cabs and sticking them together in an extended cab configuration with a stake side flat bed. I'm just starting on this project and I like to plan (less suprises later?) so started searching the net for places that might be of help, and this is one of the places I landed. Here is some eye candy for you to see what my past work turned out like:
