  1. just what is on the part as shown in the picture
  2. it was center console right above what I now know is the airbag controller. about where I have it in red below.
  3. no pics, but last night got the bed popped free, and the rear cab mounts off. Cab wiring harness clear of the cab (still connected to the steering column). Fifth wheel mount removed. A few night off here for beers with the boys and a hockey game with the wife, but I'm hoping by Sunday MAYBE Saturday be down to the rolling frame!
  4. thanks for all the help guys! Last night I got the connector apart: hey there's a bolt hidden in the middle of all those wires! insert popped out of the knob and: Hey there's a nut under that! Still wondering what that black box is I posted in the original question, doesn't seem to be consensus on that? Thanks!
  5. Thanks! So, how does one disconnect the harness at the BIG connector near the firewall? I can see any flip/push tabs to release it from the part that comes thru the firewall. I likely will NOT be using the 94's steering wheel (but have yet to rule that out), since I will basically be changing the vehicle enough to have to ignore the airbag and any controls on the wheel except MAYBE cruise and wiper and WON't be using the gear selector on the column. FWIW, mine is 4X4 as well.
  6. yah, no small set screw and I about tore my palms off trying to unscrew it....guess it's time for a tool with a lever...
  7. There is a 12V wiper kit out there for the B series truck that is a drop in replacement for the originals. Doors, windows and possibly cowl vent will all be power. As for the tranny, the cost of the 6 speed itself is prohibitive, not to mention I have yet to find a drop in kit that has all the parts to hook to the '94 6bt. If you know of one let me know, the cost difference is a side wood project or two and worth it if it's not reinventing the wheel to mate them up!
  8. found that, MUCH smaller and has verbiage on it to that effect. Biggest question, do I need this in my conversion project since I won't be using much, if any of the '94's cab related functions, just the powertrain/frame? I asked on my other thread, how do you get the 2WD/4WD selector stick knob off?
  9. cool thanks! What does the "Centeral Timer" do?
  10. on to the interior: How do you take the knob off the 2WD/4WD selector?
  11. I'm tearing down the '94 for my street rod project and don't want to throw something away that I need. Now I've never taken a modern vehicle down before and my repairs on them have been 95% plain old maintenance, but what are these items? thanks!
  12. let's do this to keep the thread "cleaner". If you see something you are interested in, drop me a PM and it will be FCFS. I sell parts for 50's trucks all the time and tend to give good prices. Only thing I'm keeping is the grill for the wall. Tear down starts tomorrow after work!
  13. got the '94 pulled into the shop last night to thaw out...any parts you want off the body, speak up before they get scrapped!
  14. From what I can see by looking at a few websites, the NV5600 was not an option in '94. What would all be entailed going to this (assume transfercase, drive shaft)? Altho, at almost double the cost of the NV4500...I don't know..
  15. sill/rocker beams in and seats out of the donor (and my helper)
  16. sooo...as I lay in bed this morning, waiting to get up (stupid brain) I thought to myself: 1. how spendy would a manual transmission be for this project to swap in? 2. how available are said transmissions? 3. Would my old, almost fresh off of rebuild, be easy to sell and for how much?
  17. put in the bracing so I can cut the floor out this weekend
  18. Well, wood projects wrapping up for the winter. After almost a year, I'm getting back to TODD. Last night I cut all the bracing out I had in for the roof build. Now I can weld in new bracing so I can cut the floor out. Then I will weld in new sill beams (2 X 4 x .125 tubular steel you can see them laying in the cab) and some cross members. Hopefully in Feb I will be pulling the 94 into the shop and start tear down so I can get the cab set this spring. Sure opens the cab up inside!
  19. come January when I hope to pull the '94 in the shop to start the tear down, ALL parts not on the power train are available for the asking. PM me if you are looking for any parts before they head to the landfill or scrapper.
  20. some eye candy from my onboarding time at the mothership:
  21. Well, I'm back in business, a few wood projects to finish up I contracted for while between positions, but I started my new job 2 weeks ago.....at Cummins! I'm in Power Gen systems (diesel gensets), but I'm now part of a great company, with cool products! I hope to get back on the truck here in January.
  22. still working on the project, but it is on hold. My position was eliminated at work and I'm on the hunt for work and doing a lot of woodworking to help pay bills right now instead of playing truck.
