  1. With less that 100K and complete? Saw one for sale for $2K and was wondering if that was a good price.

X2 on Craigslist. I got a heck of a deal on a 34 HP Kubota after looking for a few months. Just don't get in a hurry.
  3. Here is mine from 2011
  4. Live near Elkhart, just barely in Kansas.
  5. Thanks, Mike. I will keep that in mind. I'm sure those narrower tires will perform better in snow.
  6. Well, I ended up with the Borgeson shaft and gear box and it drives a lot better. As soon as I wear these 31's out I plan to go smaller because I think the big tires are part of the problem over time. Thanks everyone.
  7. Thanks. I will keep an eye on it until I can check it out.
  8. I don't remember exactly but I measured what I drained out and replaced that, then checked the stick after running it.
  9. My truck has been sitting for several weeks in the shop not being used. It has never leaked anywhere except the crankcase vent then only a couple of drops after parking. I have the 47 tranny, 4 wheel drive with 102,000 miles. I dropped the tranny pan and adjusted the bands about 5K ago and filled with fresh fluid. Pan was very clean. Now after sitting probably 7 weeks I start seeing a leak where the transfer case and tranny meet. It didn't start leaking until this week. Any ideas?

  11. I installed the brace and believe it helped out on the wander. I couldn't test drive it like I wanted to due to snow covered roads.
  12. Thanks, I understand. I have put about 3500 miles on the truck since I bought it and don't have a clue what when the PS oil was changed last, if at all. That is the only fluid I have not changed since I got it, but will since you brought it to my attention. Not sure it will do any good at this point. I will install the steering brace and see what happens. If that doesn't help a new steering gear along with new oil is my next project. Thanks for all the replies and advise.
  13. Since I already have the slack in the output shaft should I assume the damage is already done?
  14. Somewhat new to the Dodge so here goes. I thought my steering gear was getting some slack in it and had a helper look it over last night. I thought that I needed to adjust the adjustment screw some but after looking it over it looks like the movement is in the steering gear output shaft, not the gear adjustment. I know part of my issue is the 31" tires. I have a new alignment after upgrading to the '09 steering mod, checking the ball joints. Everything seems tight except for the movement in the output shaft. It acts like the bearings, if there are any, are out. My questions are, 1) Is this normal? 2) Is this why the steering brace/support is installed? 3) If I do install a support what to expect from the steering gear, should I go ahead and replace it now or just wait and see? Thanks for any help.
  15. Any idea how long it takes to install and what Dodge charges to re-flash?Thanks
  16. You know, I could be doing that. The rpm at 65 is around 1750 and if I kick out OD it goes to 2600 or so. The last time I went up the pass I wasn't loaded very heavy and never put in tow mode. That is when I noticed the egt getting close to the 1200 mark. It never downshifted on its own. I will see what happens next time. Thanks
  17. We stop in Trinidad regularly. I plan to move up there some day. Beautiful area.
  18. I have a house near La Veta/ Fort Garland area, but live in the extreme S/W corner of Kansas.
  19. My '01 truck is pretty much stock with the exception of the Superchip Cortex set on "performance tow". 4.10 gears, 31" tires, auto. I pull a trailer occasionally and travel in the Rockies, usually less that 8000#'s. I notice the egt's start creeping up to the 1100 degree mark or slightly higher unless I let off some on a long pull. I have read on here that 1100 is reaching the limit. I am old enough now that I don't drive it like I stole it, but do not want to damage anything because I plan on keeping this truck a long time. I am also hesitant to make any changes in the programmer settings because I am afraid I will screw something up. Are these temps normal? Am I causing any damage by running these temps? I know these are fairly elementary questions, but I am new to the Cummins engine. Thanks for the help.
  20. I have been lurking on here for a while and just recently decided to sign up since I have learned so much on here, so this is my first post. Thanks to Mike and others on here-what a great site.I bought my 2001 XC 4x4 Auto the end of July and have been doing some work on it. It had 96,000 miles. This is what I have done.Installed MoparMan's puke bottle fixInstalled gauges-fuel pressure, egt, boost, transmission tempChanged all the fluids/filters and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the tranny pan.Installed the '08.5 and up steering kit from Mopar since I had a slack in a couple of tie rods.Alligned and balancedInstalled a FASS 95 with new lines to the OEM filter. Brought my pressure from 12 to 18 at idle and 7 to 12 at WOT.I have a Superchip Cortex that came with the truck and it is set on performance tow. I have some learning to do on the programmer. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.I have some slop in the steering gearbox and a little play in the lower right ball joint. These are on my list after I get the valves ckecked and adjusted.I need to slow down since I think the wife is onto me.What am I missing?Sorry to hijack this thread, but tried to start my own and I couldn't get it to work.I only tow around 7000#'s right now and travel in the Colorado mountains quite regular.
