  1. What are the specs on tightening the bands? Is there just the one to do or more? I looked in the articles but didn't find info on the 47re.
  2. I put the trans relay back in place of the jumper wire and that didn't work at all. The tranny felt very sluggish and the TC didn't lockup at all. Another dimension to this is that when it's really cold outside and before the tranny is warm the TC locks up right away. So if I drive away in D it right away hits lockup and stalls the truck. I have to start in 1 and get up some speed, then shift into 2 etc. It threw a 0753 code when I had the relay back in.
  3. I customized the valve body myself according to a thread I found on CF. I will check the relays. I have the one relay out and a jumper wire installed to make the lockup switch work...
  4. I've got 1765 0743 0382 for codes. I looked them up but reading through the write-ups it really goes over my head! Could someone help me know where to start with pinpointing my problem? The reason I checked for codes is when I'm using my exhaust brake the TC always lockup in second. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't. On the times that it doesn't lock I can force lockup with my mystery switch.
  5. $1.45/L here which works out to $5.49/gal
  6. I have the same setup and can hold 35 psi. Without my boost elbow I could spike 45.
  7. I have that heater too and it would bring the temp gauge up to mid way or higher. Now if doesn't move the gauge at all. Any ideas what could've changed? It still starts great so I know it's heating somewhat.
  8. No blue light on either of my VW's. Maybe it's a Beetle thing?
  9. I've seen the temp gauge all the way to operating temp on my car! But I haven't put an IR gun to it do I don't know exact degrees. Then mysteriously one day the gauge didn't register anything but the car still started great as usual so who knows what happened.
  10. Only the later years had coolant heaters. (I don't know when they started) My 01 Jetta only had a dealer installed pan heater. It worked till it got really cold then I was stranded. I put the 1000 watt heater in my 05 Passat. No worries now!
  11. Larger cylinders? That is a new one to me but I sure would've if I'd known.
  12. Well I got it all back together and the brakes work way better! I ended up replacing both drums, the pads, one slave cylinder, and bypassing the proportioning valve.
  13. I ended up going with Spyder lights from Autoanything. Hope they'll be satisfactory quality.
  14. My weather station recorded 71 mph last night.
  15. I need new headlights for my VW Passat. The adjusters are broken and the lenses are all cloudy. Where's the best place to get them? Best place meaning balance between quality and price.
  16. I agree to both 100%. I could loose 5-10 degrees at a light on a really cold day. And I have a new cummins stat.
  17. Can you explain the boiling point part? Why would it boil anyway? Also I'm curious what kind of psi would be produced in the brake system?
  18. I see the videos are for front axle seal replacement. My problem is on the rear axle.
  19. Any chance you could get a picture of what you did? The tee block on my axle is welded on and it has a vent pipe out of it so I don't know if I can replace it with anything. And the brake supply is part of that block, no threaded fitting to seperate them. So how did you connect your new line from the frame to the axle?
  20. I have no idea why that posted twice!!
