Loss of power... Out of ideas need help.
If I'm not mistaken, 25-27psi is a little too high for the VP44. This is the link to the VP44 fuel pressure spec article, http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/25-fuel-system/49-fuel-pressure-specification-for-bosch-vp44-injection-pumps. Like it says, when you get over 20psi all you are doing is creating more heat. Based on your description, I'll be absolutely amazed if your VP44 isn't toast. If you went through 4 fuel filters that lasted only 25 miles per filter then I'm thinking that the VP44 was more than likely run for 600 miles under heavy load with less than 5psi lift pump pressure.

HX35 Upgrades?
Thank you. That's exactly the info I was looking for. I've pretty much made up my mind to go with that type of setup. Now all I need is money! Story of my life.

HX35 Upgrades?
After thinking about it, this truck is my DD as well as my towing rig, and hauling. Most of the time I have a 5 year old in the back seat. I would like to see a little more power but also a little better mpg. I'm leaning more towards the RV275's now. I think the RV275's with the Comp, stock turbo, stock 3" exhaust may be all that I need. Anyone know of someone running a similar setup? I guess Mike is pretty close with his setup.

HX35 Upgrades?
I would really like to hang on to the HX35. It is in really good condition Mike. I have the Comp box already.

HX35 Upgrades?
I was typing the question you answered before I saw your post.

HX35 Upgrades?
No problem there, boost elbow is already in. I guess what I'm asking is do the upgraded HX35 housing and larger compressor wheels produce any significant improvement over stock or would I be better off saving the $500 or so and invest in say a phatshaft, super b, or something similar?

HX35 Upgrades?
I'm planning on some 75hp or 100hp injectors for the future. Are there any upgrades for the HX35 that will make a difference or should I plan on replacing the turbo as well?

Edge Comp Reset?
Thanks guys. By the way Mike, that was me that messaged you over on CF. As you can tell, whatever happened has worked itself out.

Edge Comp Reset?
Hey guys. Can someone tell me how to reset the Edge Comp. I think there was a post somewhere that Mike told me how to do it but I can't find it.

Steering Brace
I've read a ton of stuff on the 4wd steering issues but what about fixes for the 2wd? I have replaced ball joints, inner/outer tie rod ends, pitman arm, steering stabilizer, steering gear box, and installed the Rock Solid shaft bushing. Also replaced front wheel bearings and had alignment. When I installed the gearbox I did adjust it very slightly and like everyone else it drove ok for a while but now it's back to wandering. What would be the best thing to do on a 2wd to fix this problem?

Steering Brace
This is something I plan for the future when money permits. I'm just curious. Do their boxes come in under the 550.00 Borgeson price tag?

High Idle Enable
Yeah, I just checked out the DAP website and you can rent it for 60.00. Does anyone know if you can install a tune with it as well? If so, I would go that route for sure.

High Idle Enable
I have an appointment at the Dodge Dealership Saturday to get the high idle feature enabled. They said it will cost 55.00. The sound about right to you guys?

Blue Chip Diesel FMS Box?
Knock on wood, mine is still in perfect shape. I've read everywhere about the dash problems but that is the first picture I've seen of one. Wow! I need to stop complaining about the one squeak I have.

Thermostat temp?
When I bought my truck it had a 180 in it. One of the first things I did was replace it with a 190. When I worked for the Bakery we changed all of our 6bt's and 4bt's to 190. We did it mainly because they don't have much of a heater and its like riding around in a freezer in the winter.

47re build
I just replaced my 47re with a Revmax signature series. They had great customer service and I'm very happy with it so far. I'm not familiar with the other brands so I can't comment on them.

Alternator will not charge at idle.
I can't seem to get a hold of him right now. I'll let you guys know when he calls. I'm pretty sure he said the tach was working, no lights were on in the dash. Not sure about the batteries, I'll ask him. I remember him saying that he attempted at some point in the past to install an external regulator so that leads me to believe this may not be a new problem. He also said it didn't work out for some reason. If I trace it to the PCM I may give him the instructions for the voltage regulator mod on here. I'll post when I get more info.

Alternator will not charge at idle.
Hey guys, I'm trying to help out a co-worker with his truck. He has a 98 12v and told me today that his alternator will not charge at idle. He said that he replaced the alternator but it didn't change anything. I know that the voltage regulator is built in to the PCM. I read somewhere that one of the sensors it takes it readings from is the crank position sensor but I don't know what the others are. Could anyone share how the system works and any ideas what might be going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ideas for exterior B-Pillar trim?
We've got a heat gun and one of those air decal removers at the shop. I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks. I'll post pics when I do it.

Paint Help
Stainless panels on mine too. Still leaves a couple of inches below them to get dinged up though. I like the thought of bedliner.

Ideas for exterior B-Pillar trim?
You just had to put that up there didn't you? Now I can't decide whether to go black or paint to match the truck. Yours sure does look good.

Console cup holder
Who knew, it might be a good idea to put up your cupholder because a bear might step on it. In the world of cupholder problems I don't think anyone is ever going to be able to top that one!!

Console cup holder
That's exactly what I thought when I got mine. Probably 25 cents to make it. After listening to the dash console vibrate like crazy, it was well worth the money, I like it. Nice and quiet now. Well, at least the dash is, you can hear the truck coming for a mile. My wife just hides her head whenever she's with me. She's yet to understand my love of the carport vibrating and the smell of diesel when I fire it up on a cold morning.
