  1. Mike I think it's gone bud I rechecked all the connections and they are good and thigt and I did used the wire you mention so I think is dead . Either wayi was going to die anyways right so I think in one way it was better itwent this way other wise it was going to leave me stranded out on the road.
  2. Well on one connection I did I had to add a little piece of wire because it was to short do you know of the wire has to be the same kind or could I use any wire?

  4. Hey Mike , wanted to ask your opinion on something, I had send you this link last month http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-powertrain/260716-vp44-electronic-fix.html . So I did it on my second truck that I have been working on because I was getting dead pedal and the code P0216 so I gave it a try and now I have been trying to turn the truck on and it wont start. This is what I have done so far : I loosen the banjo bolt on the vp and fuel did came out from there with a lot of pressure ,then I loosen injector line 3,4 and 5 and I am only getting fuel on injectors 4 and 5 ,on 4 is were it comes out the most and on 5 it only drips . Could I have messed up the pump ? I tried it because I knew that it was going to fail sooner or later so I took the chance . What should I do ?
  5. I replaced mine with one from oreillys they have one for 200 something and it's the 3 turn one.
  6. Could it be the power steering box? Thats how mine looked.
  7. Well I been getting 13 psi WOT with the aidog 100 is that to low ,because the guy from pureflow told me that I could buy a spring and change it and I would pick up 1 to 2 psi so if thats to low maybe I could order that spring.
  8. Ok got it all back on checked the pitman arm and it looks good ,I installed a napa gear box a 3 turn one and took it of for a spin works great and had to tight the nut thats on pitman arm to the gearbox with some vise grips because I didnt had a socket for that but planning on getting one tomorrow does anybody know the torque on that, I did make sure it was tight with the vise grip. O and I also installed a new carter lift pump from cummins (since I am not planning on keeping it , a friend is interested in it so didn't want to invest alot) I also got a gauge on it is giveing me 14 psi at idle and 11 at WOT . I hope this helps me with the vp44 haveing a P0216 because the 2 stroke oil did made a difference.
  9. Cool I got it out thanks! , The pitman arm looks good to me is there anything I need to look at to make sure I don't need to replace it ?
  10. To remove the steering box do I have to remove the pit arm too.
  11. Hey guys I found some BHAF filters for 40 bucks here at a filter place let me know if any body needs some.
  12. I think it was inside between the screens theres a little thing that goes between them like a little tube that touches one of the small circles on the bottom screen. I don't think I got the lift pump inside the tank because theres one by the engine right below the filter.
  13. Sorry I did not specified this is on a truck I bought to fix up kinda like a project it has the original pump.
  14. I got a diesel leak coming from the bottom of the lift pump were apparently there is an electrical connection,I have already checked the fuel line connections and they are dry so I am pretty sure is coming from there. Is there a fix to this or do I need to buy a new lift pump.
  15. Well I think it is from the part were the little net is on the bottom I took it apart because it had alot of black stuff in it so I was trying to clean it and when ever I was putting all back I forgot it.
  16. I just replaced the fuel sending unit to get the fuel gauge working and I forgot to put these plastic washer on :banghead: , and the bad thing is that I noticed when every thing was back on the good thing is that the gauge is working. Should I take it apart again ?
  17. Well I can say that the 2 stroke oil diet has made a difference on a dieing vp44 pump I got the P0216 code and I was getting that dead pedal feeling when I had just bought this project truck I have been working on (2001 dodge 2500 4X4 5spd 260k) ,When ever I was getting to 60 and 70 mph the pedal didn't respond and now after I have adding the 2 stroke the truck hardly has those symptoms .I wonder how long would it go like that.
  18. Yes I did saw some on a small there I will replace the pump tomorrow. thanks!
  19. Ok so I did the radiator flush the other day and also replace the thermostat . And today when I was making the crankcase breather I saw a few drops of antifreeze on one of the bars of the suspension right below the belt ,so I cleaned it and took it of to pick up the fuel sending unit and when I came back I took a look at it and saw the same drops I follow the leak and it looks like is coming out from the gear cover and like a small hole thats above were the oil pan and the block meets ,thats were I think is coming is there a particular place they leak need some help please?
  20. I went to the dealer and the guy there couldnt find the seals I need so he gave me a print out here it is can you see the seals ?
  21. So do you think this will fix the steering problem?
  22. Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
  23. Ok so I was looking under my truck because a friend of mine told me to check steering shaft because when I am making a turn the steering wheel kinda takes an extra turn like if it was loose or even when I change lanes, so I was looking under and saw this leak could it be coming out of the steering box or can it be coming out of the pwr steering pump because I have seen a leak from there but very small. Any clues ?Also if I do need to change the steering box any tips on how to do it?
