  1. I HATE the cold, but then I'm used to 105° - 110° heat. I love coming home from a long hot day at work, backing down the boat ramp, cranking up the radio, jumping in the river, and popping a top. All of these were taken just a few minutes ago. Looking out of the north west facing window. Behind the house Looking up river from the boat ramp Boat ramp It's hard to see but the shadow up on the hill in the right of the picture is my 420 sq foot house. Believe it or not it had water in it back in 2003 during a 52' rise.
  2. I have got to make one of those! That would be perfect for washing the underside of my truck after going to the beach.
  3. I reload for 9mm, 45 acp, 308, and 223/5.56. I also cast my own 45 bullets. Problem is that I can't find powder in stock in a quantity worth buying. I'm not paying hazmat and shipping for a couple pounds of powder and or 1k primers.
  4. So how long did it end up burning for?
  5. @Dieselfuture Camping, fishing, ect, is easy for me to do because of where I live. I can get home from work, grab a couple rods and reels, and walk down to the river. During the summer I leave my 16' jon boat in the river and run drop lines. If it wasnt for living right on the water out here I wouldn't be able to fish or camp. @Mopar1973Man Our local VFD is just a place to hang out and drink, which I found out after talking to a buddy who was a member. It sucks because I wanted to join and be able to help people, not get drunk and f off. It's pretty cool that you have a team! Winter isn't bad here, it does freeze but not for more than a couple days in a row. I'm out and about doing stuff most of time. I got laid off awhile back after the oilfield took a dump and have been working with a friend doing brush clearing, tree removal, fence building, and anything else I can find. Last couple of weeks have been slow though. One John Deere skidsteer burst in to flames due to a factory wiring issue and is currently being repaired under warranty, and the other blew a water pump so we're stuck waiting on parts.
  6. @Mopar1973Man Everyone I've ever seen with a drop in bedliner ended up with lots of rust. They always vibrated around and sanded the paint down to bare metal, then water would get trapped under it, and then it was rust heaven. @Dieselfuture I'm going to eventually weld in some patch panels.
  7. I'm just curious what everyone's other interests are. Here are some of mine. *Shooting/training with firearms as well as hunting. *I live on a river and I'm only 45 minutes from the bay so I like to fish, a lot lol. *Camping, hiking, building survival skills, ect. *I play electric and acoustic guitar, just about all genres, even had a band back in early 2000. *Refinishing, modding, and general luthier work on guitars. *Metal fabrication *I went through a large part of my life trying to cope with undiagnosed and very severe ADD/ADHD. Now that it's under control I enjoy learning as much as I can.
  8. Ain't that the truth lol. My buddy is burning some vacation time next week so we'll probably take his dad's boat out a few miles to the first set of rigs, or if it's too rough hit up one of the bays. Right after this last cold front came through there were some people cleaning up on reds, muddy water and lots of wind be damned.
  9. Next Thursday and Friday are forecasts to be in the 80's here, time to head down to the beach for some surf fishing!
  10. I ended up going a different route. I wire wheeled the entire bed floor, paying special attention to the rust holes. I then painted it with Rustoleum rusty metal primer and will topcoat with Rustoleum satin black. I'm also cleaning up and painting the underside of the bed where the holes are to seal things up. For bed floor protection I'm putting in a rubber bed mat. The plan is to occasionally remove the mat and hose out the bed, then after a few months wire wheel the paint off in a couple spots to see how it's holding up. Eventually I'm going to find a bed in one of the local salvage yards to cut some patch panels out of.
  11. That's the plan, if for nothing else but peace of mind.
  12. @Mopar1973Man I have a 96', I don't have the digital odometer.
  13. @TFaoro I'm probably going to install a mechanical gauge. I know it's not that big of a deal but I'd like to have one. I ditched the drink ejectors and fiberglassed over the hole so I can fit two more gauges in there.
  14. I know it's a dummy gauge, I was wondering if there was a way to make it function like normal gauge is all.
  15. It rubs against the grain with me. My dad taught me to keep an eye on my gauges, especially oil pressure.
  16. Mine sits on 40 or just below all the time, cold, hot, idling or WOT doesn't matter. I'll probably end up installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge later if there is no fix for the stock unit.
  17. I wonder if there is a sender that will at least give me some kind of movement indicating low pressure.
  18. My reason for doing it is to make sure the pump is properly lubricated, I did notice that it seemed to run smoother overall.
  19. Is there a way to make the stock oil pressure gauge show the actual oil pressure instead of being a dummy gauge? Truck in question is a 96'.
  20. Using 1oz per gallon has really quieted my pump down.
  21. That's the one from the Amazon link above?
  22. I wonder if they can flash mine to allow a lock-up switch to work? Local dealer said they could do the flash, then $60 later they say it can't be done
  23. I just replaced both not long ago, I had the entire dash out to fiberglass reinforce the back side. While I had the hvac unit apart I replaced all of the deteriorated foam on the doors as well. Your top dash WILL break, there's no two ways about it. *Pro tip* Don't forget to run the vacuum line back out the hole in the firewall as your reinstalling the HVAC unit, if not you will have to pull it back out. How far along you are with the reassembly when you find this out is directly related to the amount swearing you will do.
  24. I'm not sure what mine weighs, it only squats the front end about a 1/4". It's a tough bumper, it's been hit a half dozen times or more by dickheads who can't walk a straight line let alone drive in the wally world parking lot. I've come out of the store and found white, blue, yellow, red, green, and grey paint on it multiple times lol.
  25. How heavy are yall's bumpers? I take mine off and on by myself without a jack.
