ECM numbers for a 99 with a manual trans
I am wondering what ecm number I will need to get since I have convered my 99 from an auto to manual transmission? I know that it will have to be out of a 99, but I am not sure how many different ones there are for the 99? Also since I will have to get the PCM could I get both from another year? Thanks for any help, Jon.

To Many Miles to party?
I have 330,000 on a stock ctd. At this milage I am reluctant to do mods as my brother who was a diesel mechanic in the Navy said any thing over 300,000 miles would be like doing a top end and not touching the bottom. At your milage doing mods would be good since like others have stated it is not even broke in yet.

VP Return Line
I took my tee off, at idle it ran a full pipe but not very much pressure, mybe 2-3 psi. It was not easy to get to, but somehow managed to do it without tearing half the truck apart. Also you can check for fuel coming from the over flow to the injectors.

1999 Re-flash for a auto to manual trans swap
just recently swapped an auto for a nv4500. truck still runs, but occasionally will coast then surge ahead with a jolt. I have had it to the dealer and a private shop to have the ecm and pcm re-flashed, niether place could do it. Any ideas or will I have to buy a reman or junk yard computers?

Manual trans swap.
I did a swap on my 99, pretty straight forward. I went with the nv4500 because of cost, found one from the wreckiny yard with most everything I needed. Trans, bell housing, fly wheel, clutch, cross member, slave cylinder, clutch and brake pedals. I did have to upgrade the input shaft in my t-case, but that also was a simple fix. The rear driveshaft is unaltered, but I did have to shorten the front by 1.5 inches. I bought the truck for cheap on Ebay and even with the cost of all of the parts it is still cheaper than buying a stick with all the options on this truck.so far the only down side for me is trying to get the pcm and ecm reflashed. I have been to the dealership and an electrical garage and both have been unabe to do the reflash. I may end up having to get one from a wrecking yard or buy them refurbished. I hear that this is only for the 99's though, but you might want to check that out? My trck will be cruising along, then it is like I lift off the accelerator and coast for a few seconds, then with a jolt it is back on the throttle.I would not hesitate to do it again, milage jumped from 17 hwy to over 22 hwy. Not too bad for over 325,000 miles on the truck. Good luck which ever way you go.
