  3. Ok never say never..... Just started one day old, when I put turn signal on R or L and I steep on the break pedal the blinker goes dim and quits blinking, release break ped and blinker resums normal blinking.??? What, and where do I start? Thanks Dave..
  4. Well any input on swapen out 98 to 02 spindle/spline axle to have a free floaten rotor? I.e. basically from ball joints out.
  5. Diesel4 thanks. looken @ the 98 hub non ABS on my rig & the 02 frm the part store. Got a little excited on the switch over. Yes the 98's have a 30 spline spindle axel & 00-02 have a 32. What about switchen out just the splined hub axels? Did read on pirate 4x4 about the 2nd gen to a ford hub swap, pretty cool, Short end of it, they took the whole Knuckle from BJ on from 92-96 F350 duley. Need a different pitch banjo bleed screw on caliper to mate with ram bk line. Wheel studs and pattern same as dodge.
  6. While replacing the tranny lines took a closer look @ front rotors! Sever heat stressed & cracked. Q?s I believe the original rotors & Hubs non ABS. So Take hub & rotor off @ same time by the socket on back of hub bolts & use power sterring to press off? Seperate both once off truck & press out wheel studs? On the new hub & rotor, can the rotor be mounted on hub for easy removal of ROTOR only for future replacement i.e. anti sieze all hub & rotor mating surface & hub to axel surface? What are the best hub & rotors for Tow/Hall aplication, tempkin & drilled/slotted zink coated rotors... NAPA premium H&R ....or? Has anyone swaped out to later Generation 2nd, 3rd for easier disassasembly? Do the drilled rotors realy make the stops Shorter by noticably reducing break fade? I realy appreciate all the views & input, thanks Dave. - - - Updated - - - ISX will the 00-02 3500 4x4 hubs & rotors fit a 98 3500 4x4? if so order them WO ABS? - - - Updated - - - [TABLE=class: tborder, width: 100%, align: center] [TR] [TD=class: alt1, bgcolor: #FFFFFF] Looked @ 2002 hub & 98 hub. The 02 hub with studs already in AND a larger flange to hold free floating rotor on the front of it and ABS cable, both are are equal in H, W, & depth, same threds and and same spline pattern and demtions . The 2000 -2002 hubs mount to axel housing like the 98's BUT the rotor mount on the front, EASY rotor replacement. Looked @ both rotors side by side both equal width. the 02 is 1/4in taller. Q, will the 98 break caliper holders & calipers accept is slightly larger dia rotor? will the rotor be set into/ over the axel and not allow the wheel to mount properly? thanks Dave [/TD] [/TR] [/TABLE]
  7. Just finished a Red head steering gearbx & NAPA PS pump. Also rebuilt the vacuumed pump, pulled PS & vac pumps together. Made job a WHOLE lot easier. Pulled gear box first then the rest.... So far steers GREAT, 100% improvement over stock. Turning wheel....little stiff after deairing of pump with wheels off grnd. Truck in sig.
  8. Pepsi, are the lines and connecting coupplers OEM or after market? made by? any pics of connections at the side tube cooler, front fin cooler? I assume the lines are from the 99 and not the 08 in your sig.
  9. Thanks Rogan, have any pics of your lines with this coupeling? Would like to beef up lines, thinken perfab some hydraulic and compression swivel fx. Don't know if this will wk on front , side cooler in and out. Will the fittings on side cooler unscrew from tube if the mounting plate is taken off? Thanks Dave
  10. Have a 47re (truck in sig) need to replace All tranny lines. Would like to go all screw in fitting, no OEM plastic coupeling ?$@%. Anybody know a one stop shop for fittings &lines. Thanks Dave i.e. tranny to torque tube cooler to air cooler & return to tranny. Tube & air both have the plastic TAB coupeling.
  11. ISX great instructional video. I did mine this summer, 4GSK, injector pump in trk. Counted clicks AND caliper measure. Glad I did both. on reinstall, I could not here/feel clicks well. OLD age, poor hearing. My measurement .051 both sides.. Again I very much apppreciate ALL you do to help all us shade tree DIY's. Happy New Year..

  13. Happy new year all,would like to know all about any who have retro fitted 12v 2nd gen. 3500 with rear disc brakes? All pics greatly app. Would a set of rear rotors from a 01,02 truck work? I know its more than pulling my rear drums and putting rear discs on. I have did the rear Chevy break cyl. Up grade, a little better on stops. Thanks all.

  15. Truck in signature has a slow (add some fluid once a month) leak in OEM steering gear box? Appears to come from one of the lines off the top OR where the steering shaft goes in? Truck has 180K and OEM suspension. Replace or repair box or box, Power steering pump and lines, & while I'm @ it rebuild the vacuumed pump! what are some options for a new gear box & PS pump? What do I watch for if disconnecting PS lines from break master cylinder? Does the break master Cylinder receive driving pressure from sheeting gear box? Thanks Dave. P.S. The new drag link, steering stabilizer, & steering shock, & quater turn on the top adj bolt of the gear box all or part relieved all the steering wondering, drifting, and unintended lane changes. LOL. Dave
  16. Replaced my heater core lines with High temp hose & sleeved both each with a piece of heat shield. Heat shield will reflect most of the heat, cost $5 to 8 a foot. I used 3'... Dave
  17. A cutting tourch with a #12 tip. Heat the bolt end cherry red & hit the Oxygen cut to blow it out the back.

Well I hope someone kicks me in the front teeth with steel toes before I drill, TRY easy outs that break off in the hole HO ya & then the #%^$# carbide harden steel drill bits break off tryen to get the %##%^&* easy outs, out. That #6 Ex port back by the fire wall, pretty hard to see much less work on. 8hrs later and a tourch ( that woud have saved me 6hrs) IMHO is the only way to get broke off bolts out of the head. Now I'm waiten on max to send me a Shiney NEW aftermarket exaust manifold with bolts that will not break off in the head... Oh and a high quality tap to break out all the slag left from the blow out of the tourch.[/TD][/TR][/TABLE]

My #6 cyl bolts MIA, blowen exaust out the top back on to the fire wall. I can see a gasket back there, thou it's tweeked a little. Have a set of new ones. Turbo studs don't look that appealing eather? YA Thanks ALL.[/TD][/TR][/TABLE]
  23. OOOOh ya, I can't wait to reach out to those fire wall, #6 cyl. bolts. I just thought of something, I should try to probe the holes FIRST, proceed if no broke off bolts. Thank for the hint whitlighten. Do you recall haven any issues puttin the EX Man back on? Whats YOUR labor rate?
  24. ISX your supose to relay some GOOD news! The bolts on the turbo, I'll have to stand on my head & dislocate my shoulder to remove them. I've heard that the Ex manifold may shrink/draw up a bit if taken totaly off the engine, so only unscrew the bolt to loosen, then take a pair out to replace gasket & so on. Sounds great but I have my doughts. It's neever that easy. Anybody on here replaced a ex manifold?
  25. Found it, Exaust leak: #6 bolts were missing, the one that will BE a PIA to put back in. I have'nt looked in the holes yet, I hope they're not twisted off. The BA whine, one of the twin banks air horn gaskets has a break in it. AH, on to the next project....ISX any good tricks on putting #6 Ex manifold bolts in? I prefer not to stand on my head! Do you use a crows foot to take to torbo off the Ex manifold? ALL the remaining bolts are in a good penitrating oil soak right now.
