  1. I even have one on my Garden Tractor 24HP . This is the best way to do this. Place magnet as near as possible to the drain plug "any type of engine" ,After engine is warmed up go ahead to drain old oil, and remove the magnet as soon as the oil is flowing. This will drain out any metal contaminants. Replace magnet for future drain!
  2. Or maybe it has to do with UREA, witch started in 2007 to present. good read http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/01/welcome-to-2010-got-urea-.html almost the same as ***** in your tank
  3. I hate to revive an old tread but I can't hold this info.Apparently the fan hub assembly has a substance that when energized with pulsed electricity it will change the viscus of the fluid causing the fan to fluidly lock-up to the hub. The ambient temperature plays a part in how much free rotation will a cure. Semi's rely on air pressure to activate the clutch fan. a little less harmful on 2x4's until it in gauges, then run!
  4. Mopar can you elaborate on " both Cummins and Dodge don't suggest anything above 20% because of the water problem with Bio"are you saying there are traces of water in bio mixes.
  5. Maybe it has a lot to do with driving around the pot holes, opposed dot seeing them and driving straight through them, thinking oops. that'll hurt:banghead:
  6. OK, I'll look around Thanks!
  7. Yes your right on using OBDII, I was just thinking on an alternative. Did it in the past on some cars. (4 letter word). I like checking once and a while on what a Tech. would call soft codes. Preventative maintenance is always a good idea.Probably would be better to get a programmer!
  8. The adaptation of ON-STAR and a-like was proven to be beneficial to consumers for emergencies. BUT I think the government is using it for there tax calculations and UN-knowable spying ?Thinking of this makes me wanting to burn more gas - fuel with an older truck that doesn't have computers or black boxes!
  9. I'm sorry to say but the ball and socket is what will wear, and when it does, it wears oblong so I can't see that this will be safe.Years ago I some repairs that needed done one a 1957 willies jeep overland "which I still own". A steering component had a device almost the same as noted above except it was made somewhat different. Anyway, later on because wear and adjustments the ball part of the joint pulled straight out at a certain steering wheel rotation, I nearly killed someone. I wouldn't consider taking a chance with front-end parts being rebuilt. That scared me too much! I would think the best way to make it less costly to repair, they should be made the same as tie-rod ends only beefier.
  10. Hi, I'm not sure if I could do this Mopar1973ManI didn't have a code reader and wasn't successful in fining a way to display my codes if any. So I came across this info.Check for codes. By Cycle the key on and off 3 times with out starting, stop in the run position on the 3rd time. Codes will be displayed in the Odometer.delete it if the half too Mopar1973ManSorry
  11. where's the track bar bushings your talking about.
  12. I got 20.1 MPG today also 03 QC DWD 4x4 LB on a 300 mile cruise some city, plus playing around trying to figure out a pump issue.
  13. You know AABEAR, your old age syndrome gave me an old age flash, I remember when I first bought the truck I recalled hearing a motor-pump sound coming from the passenger side below the seat under the floor, and now weeks later I don't hear that sound any more. You suppose the pump is mounted on the frame rails and is getting week. To me that sounds possible! I did look in the engine bay and didn't see the pump next to the filter as first told to me by AH64ID. So I guess I'll be looking under the truck the morning. --- Update to the previous post... AH64ID I looked around for some "Amsoil Diesel Concentrate" and couldn't find anything as such. I'll try some more this week at some other parts store, maybe wally might carry it.
  14. Thanks again AH64IDI'll do just that at the beginning of the week "drain bowl and re-fill". I guess I'm going to dig my trailer out. Thanks for the heads up on the pumps going bad. The Quad is what I have with the 8 foot bed. I like the mega cab look nice long wheel base.
  15. Thanks AH64IDIt's a crew cab I guess, is what there called. I picked this 3500 up a couple of months ago from a dealer. He told me the previous owner did in fact changed all the injectors. I had it at a Dodge dealer last month for an unrelated issue, and they told me they're were no codes logged. At the time I hadn't noticed the fueling, UN-fueling as I call it, going on. I've read somewhere if you disconnect the battery you have to relearn the accelerator paddle. Not sure if it's the cause, But I did removed and cleaned the battery terminals last month, and the truck could of been sitting at the dealers lot at one time with a dead battery. Some suggested the lift pump going.P.S. I ran a tank with lucas fuel conditioner, I know it's not a quick fix in a bottle had to try! Thanks
