Tranny rebuild?
Another vote here for Goerend. Had them ship the parts to a local shop to do the build. Did the triple disc TC, billet input and flex plate too. They were recommended because I tow a 12k lb fifth wheel and have an exhaust brake. They work great together. Sent from my KFOT using Tapatalk HD

What tires and sizes for a 2002 2wd 2500 Ram?
Mine came with 265's (bought it new) door sticker even shows 265's. I didn't even realize 245 was the norm until a few years ago. I've put nothing but LTXs on it, same as what came on it. Scared to mess with a good thing now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What kind of mileage with Your RV
No worries here. 55mph in CA when towing. 75mph on 80 once I'm out of CA. 65mph most of the rest of the roads I was on between here and Yellowstone. I upgraded the trailer tires to LTs, so I'm not limited there. The only time that i was speeding during my 3200 mile trip was doing 60 in CA. The vast majority of my trip I was actually either at or below the towing speed limit. I switched from 3.55s to 4.10s because of the speed limit out here, and the roads into and out of Yosemite. :-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What kind of mileage with Your RV
Did a run down to Pismo, 252 miles one way. Set the cruise control on 60. Got 12.5mpg. Smarty on 7. Fifthwheel is 36' long, a hair over 12k pounds. On a 3200 mile trip to Yellowstone and back I averaged 13mpg, but that included close to 1000 miles of solo driving. Doing 65-70mph I was down to 10mpg on a few of the legs, especially with a head wind. One leg I had a great tail wind because I jumped up to 13mpg even though I was doing 70-75 the whole way (about 300 miles). All hand calculated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

smarty programmer
This is true. The Smarty has the latest software, so when you return the other truck to stock they get the latest update which includes the high and 3 cylinder idle. I've done it a couple times, but I'm way more than 100 miles from you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First winter snow are you ready?
Definitely a trade off. You guys don't have some of our other "issues" we have here in in the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia. :-)But, the weather's nice and we get to go camping year round. I have four generations of family within 50 miles; can't talk the wife into leaving anyway. Stay safe, and warm!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

20 micron W/F separator in front of Raptor?
Don't even have a screen on the Raptor but Glacier said pretty much the same thing about not putting a filter in front of the pump. With all the reports of these things getting debris in the gears and seizing I thought I'd try to prevent it but I guess not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

20 micron W/F separator in front of Raptor?
Looking at this: http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/product.aspx?pf_id=FS1212-UK I already have issues with the restriction of the stock in tank pickup. I can pull my Raptor 100 down from 20 to 14 psi so I don't want to make that worse, but I also want to protect my pump. Whatcha think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Road Trip
We just did a trip (3 weeks) up through Idaho to Wyoming to see Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Beautiful country, and the roads were way better than here in Kalifornia. It even seemed like people realized I couldn't stop on a dime and I didn't get cut off the whole trip until I got back. Wish I could talk the wife into moving out that way. Like everybody's saying, go when the kids are in school (if you can). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup, guess I'll be adding that to the to do list. Right now it's reading exactly the same as the test gauge so at least I'm back on the road. Heck, maybe I'll add a pressure gauge to the Insight so I have a backup (already did that for the trans). Now I'm back to wondering why I can pull the pressure down by 6psi which was the original reason for the viton ball swap, but I'll just leave well enough alone now. :banghead: Thanks for the input everybody!

Plugged the test gauge in, sure enough, almost 30psi. Backed that down to 20 and took the fitting off the gauge side of the isolator and it was bone dry inside. I filled it back up with water/antifreeze and now the gauge in the truck reads 20 too. Bumped the Smarty back up to 9 and heading out for a drive right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, I figure that'll be my next dilemma. Is it the gauge or isolator. Probably find out my psi is 30 and I screwed up the VP. D'oh!Thanks guys. I'll know more tomorrow after I recover from the vodka tonight. Hot day, home made lemon aide, kettle one; just too easy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys!We did a little over 3200 mile to Yellowstone and back and on the second half my fuel pressure was lower and lower everyday until by the time we made it home it was 8psi max.I replaced the filter while on the road and messed with the regulator but couldn't budge the psi. Last Sunday I replaced the plunger in the regulator with the viton ball from Pure Flow. That got me from 8psi to 9. I'm reading the pressure with a mechanical ISSPro from the fitting on the VP that comes with the big line kit. Gauge goes thru an isolator. Water/antifreeze mix in line from isolator to gauge. Bled the fuel side of the isolator. No change. The FP test kit from Geno's just showed up today so tomorrow I should know if it's the pump or the gauge. I'm just testing pressure by bumping the starter. I haven't actually started the truck in two weeks. Thanks for askin'!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Truck details should be in the sig (if I did it right). Bought her brand new in Jan of 2000 and she's treated me way better than I've treated her. Need to figure out a FP issue I'm seeing with my Raptor or my gauge, then should be back on the road again.Great site, lots of great info!
