Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing

Searching through the code to see why it suddenly goes to a fueling message of 1....it shouldn't but yea.

figured it out I think.  the code was set to only ignore the ecm if TPS was always > = the tps reading from a few mills ago.  I am guessing the ecm reported 99% TPS for a split second and the quad jumped back to oem fueling.

I adjusted the tune to be tps > last_tps - 5% so you can let up slightly.

I'm figuring out to do the timing section of the Quadzilla now. The biggest thing I figured out is to watch the stock values first for part of road trip then figure out how much timing you want to give total. Then you can tweak the other setting like adding cruise timing, your load timing etc. I'm still working the method of figuring it all out with the timing settings so more to come. This will be based on the economy side more so than the performance side.

Keep in mind we can ask for whatever we want, the vp44 will do what we ask until phyiscal limitations are hit,  IE we can ask for 36* and it will show 36 on the screen, but it will only actually be doing ~30.

I can't tell your exactly where the limit is, but I do believe it is above 26* as Tyler sent some OEM data logs with timing approaching 29*.  I can't imagine that the ecm would ask for more timing than possible.

I also want to point out that is it now possible to mechanically advance the pump by 5*, 1 tooth, and pull back timing in your Quad by 5* down low while keeping timing high up top.  You will effectively get a very controlled ~35* of timing if you choose to.  It would idle funky, but once you got on the throttle I don't think there would be an issue.

And video time

You can see a little bit of fluctuation in the smoke when up towards the end of the rev limiter.  Not exactly sure what was going on but you could feel it almost surging or trying to.  Smooth pull for the most part though.

Let me know if you suggest anything different with the "daily" tune below which is what I ran on during this video. Honestly I think I need to pull the stretch down to maybe 1650 or 1600 to see if I can clear up just a little of the smoke.  Other than that it pulls extremely hard.

What RPM is the surging / smoke puffs happening at? 3000+ rpm?

I'd prob drop your upper end timing a bit and see if the surging stops.  Maybe try 27* maybe 28* really depends on where the popping is happning.   If max is at 30* then you will see 26* at 3000 rpm and 30 at 3500.  That's a pretty aggressive ramp up while canbus fuel is falling.

I am assuming you have studs?  your stupid tune has a VERY aggressive timing map haha.  I don't know if I would run that aggressive down low

7x.09s.  I believe the same you're running if i'm not mistaken.

Wanting to step up to 11s but honestly being that the truck runs so good and I literally never have to worry about EGTs I just can't bring myself to do it.  now with that though I have tossed up the idea of going to a 63/68/14 and 7x.011s but who knows if that'll ever happen.

got ya.

If you are ok with the smoke level then leave it.

Does it smoke on lvl3 driving in the same manner?   If it doesn't then bump your wiretap low limit psi to 8psi and drop stretch slightly, but I am running 1750 in my tune and I don't have wiretap smoke.  by my tune starts at ~%88...I think

That I don't know it stays on lvl 5 (Max) all the time.  I have wire tap lowered because I find that it helps with smoothing the power curve just a bit.  Not quite sure what the deal is but the higher I go generally the more of a kick I feel when the tap comes on.

I think most of that is due to the fact that the truck builds boost insanely quick so when it finally comes on the map is jumping so quickly that it's causing a bit of a surge in the power band which is awesome if you want to blow the tires off but annoying in some ways as well lol.

To me the "popping" seems like it happens right when canbus hits zero and wiretap is still fueling. I'll drop my timing and see if that fixes it, but I doubt it. Higher timing at higher rpm is normally a good thing. Although nothing with a VP seems normal

Once canbus falls out wiretap is left "guessing" for lack of a better word.

Tyler I did get fueling extended to 3400.  Not full fuel but a more delayed ramp down.  I am gonna slowly beef up the fueling at the end until we find the limit.
