here's some pics of a wastegate i made for my truck i'll have some pictures of how the switches work soon (got too dark out for camera) in total i think it cost around $130 cdn. Also this is the start of my smoke mod as well (one half anyways) there will be more to come!

i haven't put a pressure switch in yet but it has a "0" throttle switch and a manual bypass switch. so if your at any psi and let the throttle go to idle it opens, or if u have it on manual it will hold open around 17psi max instead of 24psi max. i'm hoping to get some sort of on the fly adjustable pressure switch though, but for now it sounds bad ___ :thumb1: a couple diesel guys gave me confused looks when they were driving beside me and herd it lmao

the main reason i put this on is to eliminate boost for when i have my smoke mod, i'm going to make a solenoid to push the fuel pin all the way down to the "full boost position" while the wastegate solenoid is open to trick the pump and really roll some coal (when i want). don't want to smoke everyone out every time i take off from a stop :) i think i need another wastegate solenoid to get my 0-1psi goal though seeing as how it holds at 17psi right now at full throttle. and it definitely helps with the turbo bark it spools down a little slower as-well with the reduced psi on the inlet side :thumbup2:

sorry my bad i guess it's it's more of a blow off valve i have a none wastegate HC1 turbo, the blow off dumps boost when the throttle is at idle so if u floor it then let off it open and drops the turbo pressure by 7psi instantly (kinda like a gas car with a turbo) and i have turned the pump up a bit don't want to get it to the point where it runs away though. thinking of making a fuel pin for it out of some A2 drill rod just need to see my friends at the machine shop  get around to that one of these days

What psi is the actual wastegate? The solenoid regulates air to the WG, but the WG still takes "x" amount of boost to open right?

The older 1st gen most of them did not have wastegates (H1C's) but had huge exhaust housing... They would spool maybe 15 PSI stock... But install a HX35 on a 1st gen and you got a new animal... :woot:

i have the stock intercooled model turbo and with the fuel turned up at full throttle it pumps out about 24 to 25psi. i have a hx40 i'm waiting to put on it as well i'm going to change the exhaust manifold before i install it though seeing as how it is starting to leak (probably starting to crack as well) i also have a set of 7inch running board exhaust pipes i rolled up out of some 14ga steel just need to weld the steps on them and then i can bolt them on, i probably going to do a 7in turbo back just because i can

--- Update to the previous post...

o ya here's a link to a vid i made with the blow off valve sound for all to enjoy

lol I'll assume your refereeing to the sound and not a mechanical turbo condition ? (never heard of anything called turbo wheeze:shrug:) and i need a nick name lmao i'm sure a few ppl would get a kick out of a nick name like that :lol:also for those of you that have watched the video that little gauge i show as i'm coming to the stop sign at the hill, is a vacuum gauge i installed into my vacuum line so i can see how much vacuum my power brake booster is using :thumb1:

finally got the other pics with the switches in them one (on the gas peddle) is a momentary push toggle, and the other is a two position 3 way toggle switch (need to get a 3 position three way switch so i can have a off setting as well)
