I thought I would pass on some info for everyone! I had been talking to Mike "mopar1973man" about adding the scangauge II to my truck, but I am already using the OBDII port to run my Edge Attitude with Juice CTS! Mike an I messaged eachother back and forth, while Mike came up with a feasible idea of hard wiring another OBDII port into the truck, but with unknown an unforseeable issues! I called Scangauge and talked to a lady that was very helpful, explained to her that I needed the OBDII port to run my edge, but I also wanted to run their ScanGaugeII, after a few minutes on hold, she came back with the info on a site that has a "Y" adapter giving you the option of running to ports at once! I ordered the "Y" adapter and the ScanGauge II and will let you know how well it works out! The website she gave me was. http://www.obd2cables.com/products/obd-cables/obd-ii-cables/cable-j1962m-to-2-j1962f-y-cable-1ft.html The cable is very reasonable priced, I ordered my for $13.95 plus FedEx ground for $7.77 so a total of $21.72 I don't believe my nerves could have handled wiring in another port or finding one off a salvage vehicle and then wiring it in would be that cheap! Just thought I would pass this tidbit information on! Jason p.s. Thanks Again Mike "Mopar1973Man":smart:

IMHO, It is just about always better to use a plug in, than open up the OEM wiring. With a plug in, you can remove it for trouble shooting, return the truck to stock... As you know my truck is in a repair shop. I stopped by there soon after it was taken inside & talked to the owner & the mechanic... M wanted to know about my non-factory wiring. It took me a second as I couldn't remember 'any' after market wiring. There's the brake controler... there's my built in Escort Radar system... Yup, that was it. I hope knowing what it was speeded my work. I have bought an extension harness which I modified for the IAT fooler... not got it installed yet. The XZT+ is also a plug in... coming soon.

Nice setup... But I'm going to warn you that the ScanGauge doesn't like bright hot sun... It will damage the display if heated to much on a hot summers day. So if your slick use a window shade or create a cover for your diplays so the sun doesn't damage them. Hence why mine is under the edge of the dash bezel. :smart:

It's working out pretty good! I'm in the process of cleaning up my truck! Ordering some gauges, then I'm going to post more pics of the truck! The sgII is working good, I'm able to watch some other gauges that I normally don't watch, an I'm watching my fuel economy a little better! I've been trying to make average of 16mpgs! But that isn't too easy to do lately! Seems like everyother day, I'm pulling some type of trailer with varying weights! Heaviest load lately has been my backhoe, lightest trailer today was my 5x16 four wheeler trailer with 10 wrought iron chairs and 2 wrought iron tables!

Well I'm having to adjust my gallons after fillup every time! Other than that I think I do!

:duh: Well your doing something wrong... You suppose to use the same fuel station and the same pump in the same direction. So this time fill up don't adjust it... But go through the fillup. Then run through the tank nearly empty and fill at the same pump at the same direction. Now set it and leave it alone till you make fueling mods. You find that you constantly adjust it because of the mild offset of the pump, slope of ground, etc... So once it set leave it alone... Just adjust the fuel price...:smart:

Information on ScanGauge II... http://www.scangauge.com/ Information on UltraGauge http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm

Having read a lot of your post where you use the Scangauge II, I am ready to buy one. Now I see the post for Ultr-gauge. Do you like [recommend one over the other]? I ask since ther is a big difference in price. After reading up on both there seems to be little difference. Unless I missed something.
