NV5600 fluid leak

i swaped out my clutch in the shop most of the fluid leaked out. it looks like it all came out of the shifter mounting flang. why would some much come out of the top or should i look for another leak.

It can't come out of the shifter hole unless you rolled the trans over.Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2

coming out of what flange? when i did mine i had no leaks until i put it all bak together and the spray from gears was wicking it through the seams of the shift tower. took the tower off and put gasketmaker on it and now its dry

yeah i flipped out when i saw a puddle of fluid under the truck after clutch job... though a seal failed or the rear main i replaced failed. but was happy to find it was a unsealed shift tower

how much fluid leaked out of yours? im only geting fluid out of the second hole on the pto cover theres not much in there

i cracked the DS pto cover open to drain, then after replacing clutch and refilled with extra fluid through the shift tower, i noticed a small drip pool everywhere i went until i sealed the tower up.

If the shift tower is not sealed right, trust me, it will leak big time.You obviously pulled the tower when you dropped the transmission. When you reseal the shift tower, seal it and leave it for awhile until you thread the shift lever back on it, so the sealant sets up good. If you didn't use sealant, there is your problem also.It's suprising how much fluid will drool out of the shift tower especially being there is a whole bunch of spinning gears just an inch and a half below the hole.I fix lot's of guys trucks that have had clutches replaced and then they leak. Now they just bring them to me and it's done right the first time.Jeff

My Nv4500 when I installed the shift tower seal up-side-down then mine leaked like no tomorrow I could add a quart every 100-200 miles easy. All it took was ordering a new seal and pay attention to which way it goes together.

Mine never leaked after I put my clutch in. I just made sure I sealed up the shift tower with some gray Permatex.Sent from my iPhone in the cab of a Caterpillar
